Default Oh my! Wash post poll 74% for voter ID.

74% of Americans Support Voter ID Laws

Quote:
Yesterday, the Washington Post released a poll which found that 74% of American adults support the idea that voters should show a photo ID prior to voting. Keep in mind, the Post tried to game the results by framing the question as to whether you would support the requirement of an "official, government-issued" ID to vote. The intent of that questioning was to make the requirement seem like some special, extraordinary measure that would make voting harder.
The American public isn't buying it.

The left has hitched its wagon to a number of rapidly falling stars. Voter ID requirements is just the most rapidly falling one.

Liberal Loopy Loons only believe polls that they agree with.

Most rational people accept states voter ID laws. We've been over this. What people are against is selective suppression (See Ohio's after hours voter laws by county)

fair is fair. If these people are requesting voter IDs, lets make the IDs free and easy to get.

I'm down for that too.

Lets also fix those easily hacked e-voting machines too while we are being patriotic and wrapping ourselves up in freedom...

LOL Kind of a bi-polar response.....73% also think voter suppression – that is, eligible voters taken off registration lists or denied the right to vote -- is a problem in presidential elections.

where do I start?

Did you only read what I wrote? I think voter ID laws are fine. Each state can do whatever it thinks best. I just think that changing laws to make voting easier for one group and harder for another is kinda fukced up.

MOST importantly....

You didn't look at the entire poll, I imagine you didn't click past teh Breitbart page, but the 4th question deals with voter suppression, and gives almost the exact same % (73)

here is the poll you never clicked on: (It literally took me 4 clicks)

so quit with the DIVA BS. I have no issues with voter ID laws. I DO have issues with voter suppression.

That puts me squarely with 74% of the people polled.

so how is agreeing with 3/4 of the peoiple being out of the mainstream?

41+32=52?

did Fox news teach you math?

(its okay to say you F-ed up and didn't click on the actual survey, and took Breitbart at their slanted word...the 1st step is admitting you f-ed up...we all love you!)

FAIL!

Actually, that seems to indicate that most people do not see voter ID as a form of suppression. Just because you link the two in your mind does not mean everyone else does.

I don't have much against voter ID in principle. What I do have a problem with is the rush to implement the laws before November. Seems pretty obvious what the intention is there. Given that voter fraud is a marginal problem, at best, it seems rational to me to defer implementation to 2016 to allow ample time for citizens to be notified of legal changes and secure the requisite identifications.
