Default Lech Invites - Solidarity Disavows

Mitt may have praised The Solidarity Movement in Poland today....and Lech Walesa may have been the one who invited Romney to Poland but Solidarity, the trade union movement which led the Polish struggle against communist rule, made sure they distanced themselves from the whole thing.....quite publicly, in fact.

Quote:
"Regretfully, we were informed by our friends from the American headquarters of (trade union federation) AFL-CIO, which represents more than 12 million employees ... that Mitt Romney supported attacks on trade unions and employees' rights."

"Solidarity was not involved in organizing Romney's meeting with Walesa and did not invite him to visit Poland."

Lech Walesa international figure contributing to the fall of communism in Europe, endorses Romney, faceless union member was told by AFL CIO Romney bad.

We just have to try to evaluate them the best we can."

Lech has changed. He is a star and a wealthy man now. Good for him. He's not the same man who "defeated communism" (he didn't) and was friends with John Paul II (prolly the only decent Pope in the history of the HRCC). He makes speeches for pay and is a staunch RC who adamantly opposes abortion and homosexuality. Not surprised Mitt is using him on the "I'm Presidential- I think" tour.

Let's see....Leck Walesa, one man with very little political power or personal support since losing the election in 1995 (some 17 years ago) and pretty much zero influence on today's American public.

The trade union, Solidarity, with over 400,000 members - many of whom have multiple relatives in the USA who are voters.

Which is more important to a US election?

You tell me.
