Default June jobs factoid

How's this for numbers. More people went on disability in June (85,000), than got a job (80,000).

The Summah of Recovery!

Disability Ranks Outpace New Jobs In Obama Recovery

By JOHN MERLINE

INVESTOR'S BUSINESS DAILY

More workers joined the federal government's disability program in June than got new jobs, according to two new government reports, a clear indicator of how bleak the nation's jobs picture is after three full years of economic recovery.

The economy created just 80,000 jobs in June, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Friday. But that same month, 85,000 workers left the workforce entirely to enroll in the Social Security Disability Insurance program, according to the Social Security Administration.

The disability ranks have outpaced job growth throughout President Obama's economic recovery. While the economy has created 2.6 million jobs since June 2009, fully 3.1 million workers signed up for disability benefits.

In other words, the number of new disability enrollees has climbed 19% faster than the number of new jobs created during the sluggish recovery. (Even after accounting for people who left the disability program because they died or aged into retirement, the disability ranks have climbed more than 1.1 million in the past three years.)

Just FYI, RW, your signature pics really distort my screen to the point that I rarely go through the hassle of reading your posts.....it's not that I'm not interested in what you have to say, it's just that it's too hard to keep adjusting my PatsFans screen to read it.

Anyone else with the same problem or is there some other type of setting or something I can use so the distortion doesn't happen?

Oh, well, thank for the info. I'll be sure to never, ever change my sig from this ever again.

I'm kidding of course. I'll be changing it soon. It was my Euro Cup 2012 sig, where my motherland Italia team made it to the finals, but were neutered and debowled (if that's even a word) at the hands of the mighty Spanish. Hey, it was a great run while it lasted. The man on the left is Mario Ballotelli, and on the right is Antonio Cassano. Two of Italy's best players.

I'm trying to think of a new sig. I'd like to go back to some scantily clad women, preferably in bikini's since it's summer, but the last time I did that some members got grief from their wives when they'd frequent the page. Women!

Yeah, I kinda anticipated that might be your reaction.

Just so you know....I never had any problem with your scantily clad women. I was actually asked if they bothered me and I said, "absolutely not," and explained why. Women who choose to pose for pictures are not being violated, harassed, used, misused, disrespected, humiliated, exploited or anything else - they're doing a job they've chosen to do, they're being compensated for it and they're doing it willingly...maybe even joyously, I don't know. Their business, not mine.

I'll even go out on a limb here and say that any wife or girlfriend who has problems with their "partners" seeing a random picture or two of a woman in a bikini on a football board probably has other issues going on.

Bam! That's the word I was looking for. I figured I was somewhere in the ballpark, but knew I was off the mark. Nicely done!

Well duh, of course they have issues going on. They are women.

I'm just teasing. What's funny is my wife would walk by and comment about the sig in question, and I'd say something like "I know huh, such pervs on the internet. Men are such pigs". Meanwhile it was my sig. hahahahaha.... My wife knows I'm one of those "men" I was mocking. It's what us guys do is what I tell her.

Well perhaps it is because that is the video of choice for Mitt Romney also.
