Default Democrats terrified of Rubio

Methinks thou doth protest too much, Mr. Axelrod.

(Oh geez, I may have spelled "methinks" wrong)

Axelrod: Rubio as VP would

Senior Obama campaign adviser David Axelrod said Sunday that handing the vice presidential nomination to Cuban-American Sen. Marco Rubio (R., Fla.) would be an “insult to Hispanics.” The Washington Times reports:

“I think it would be an insult to the Hispanic community to choose Senator Rubio if the thinks that that is somehow—if Governor Romney thinks that’s sort of a get-out-of-jail-free card for all of the things and the positions that he’s taken,” Mr. Axelrod said.

Hispanics broke for Obama 67 to 31 percent in 2008. In 2012, Obama may be more vulnerable. His attempt to force Catholic institutions to pay for birth control could alienate the Latino population’s devout following.

You're absolutely right and sure as you became a loyal Patriots fan in February of 2002, I blew that one! It's mistakes like those - which I gladly admit I make all the time - which prevent me from joining the ranks of spelling nazis, yanno?

Meanwhile, do you have anything to say regarding the subject at hand?

Why would the right play the Hitler hysteria card?? If this guy so terrifies the Democrats.. another piss poor analogy, that makes zero sense..

If the Democrats are so afraid of Rubio, why doesn't Romney just pick him and end the election now???

Florida's Rubio a star, but an unlikely VP pick | Reuters

Quote:
In a Latino Decisions tracking poll last year, 72 percent of Hispanic voters said Republicans either "didn't care" or were "hostile" to their community.

It is unclear whether Rubio is the right choice to fix the party's image. He has not endeared himself to Hispanic voters on several fronts, analysts say.

He opposed the so-called DREAM Act, which would have provided a path to citizenship for some illegal immigrants, and he expressed support for a harsh immigration law in Arizona.

Rubio opposed President Barack Obama's Supreme Court nomination of Sonia Sotomayor, who is of Puerto Rican descent, and more recently blocked the confirmation of another Puerto Rican, Marie Carmen Aponte, as ambassador to El Salvador.

He also opposed Obama's healthcare overhaul, which is popular among many low-income Hispanics.

"He's on the wrong side on every issue that matters to Hispanics

I checked this morning. I asked the three hard-core Dems I ran into (and were certain about their lack of patriotism), and axed them if they were ascared of Rubio. Two responded with "Who?" and the other ran away with his arms flailing into the port-a-john and locked the door. I heard him wimpering inside and assured him that Rubio wasn't anywhere near us. After about ten minutes of convincing, he cautiously openned the door, still trembling and eyes red from tears, and stepped out. He's OK now, I think. Gonna keep an eye on him the rest of the morning.

So that's 33.33% of Dems who are ascared of Rubio.
