Polish officials requested that Walesa accept the Medal of Freedom on behalf of Jan Karski, a member of the Polish Underground during World War II who was being honored posthumously this week. The request makes sense. Walesa and Karski shared a burning desire to rid Poland of tyrannical subjugation. But President Obama said no.
Administration officials told the Journal that Walesa is too “political.” A man who was arrested by Soviet officials for dissenting against the government for being “political” is being shunned by the United States of America for the same reason 30 years later.
Then of course at the ceremony to honor Karski he insult Karski and the rest of Poland.
These people are unbelievable.

It has been announced that Walesa has decided not to meet with Barack Obama during the president’s visit to Poland. He has declined an invitation to join a group of Polish leaders in Warsaw tomorrow who will greet the president. Walesa is reportedly traveling to Italy for a biblical festival instead, and told Poland’s TVN24:
"It's difficult to tell journalists what you'd like to say to the president of a superpower. This time I won't tell him, I won't meet him, it doesn't suit me."

Good catch and my bad. But the story is the same. Just that if I was Obama, why would I want to meet with someone who snubbed me by refusing to meet with me one year earlier? Screw you old man! I'm the freaking President of the United States! What have you been up to?

Yeah, 13! Where's your "OUTRAGE" over Walesa's snubbing of the President who represents the United States? That's some anti-American stuff fer ya! You support Walesa? Huh? Do ya?
The Polish government made the request, not Wales. Pettiness doesn't have a place in formal government iteractions. Then again Obama was playing golf instead of attending the fuernals of the Polish Pm and officals who died in the plane crash in Russia.
