Default France tries to fix economy on backs on the wealthy

France needs to learn from the Republicans. You don't fix the economy on the backs of the wealthy. They earned their every penny and if they are rich, the rest of us our richer. If you want to fix the economy, try to do so on the backs of the poor by cutting food stamps for instance (which we all know no one really needs). If that does not work, then raise the price of college, tolls, water, and fix things on the back of the middle class. Why can't those stupid French people understand that Bush's tax cuts on the rich were the best thing that ever happened to the American economy?

Hollande to clamp down on fat cat pay | World news | guardian.co.uk

The president François Hollande vowed during the election campaign that in majority state-owned companies, the highest salary must not be 20 times more than the pay of the lowliest worker. The squeeze on state fat cats, expected to be enacted by decree next month, is part of the new government's quest for France to set a moral example in a crisis-hit Europe where top earners' stratospheric pay packages and benefits has exasperated workers and voters. The measure will sit alongside Hollande's promised new top tax rate of 75% on income over 1 million euros, which is extremely popular among the French public, and which he has described as an act of "patriotism" and "morality".

Love this part! Its what we should do in the USA, it forces the rich to either pay a high tax or pay more to their workers, which creates demand which creates wealth, which creates jobs!

They did this in the 1930's and it worked great for most of the country, the rich were still rich but the rest of the country grew wealth and that in-turn created demand, that created jobs!

The rest of the world is going to move forward in terms of energy and wealth and in the end if we don't start doing something we are gonna be left behind.....

Wealthy French look to leave - World - The Boston Globe

This will once again demonstrate the failure of tax the rich schemes.

Pretty soon the tax rate in all countries will be high, then where will they run to? Mars? The Moon?

So yeah let them leave, don't let the door hit you on the way out!

God the rich are pathetic, "If you don't give us what we want, will leave!" Good! They need us more then we need them!

Sensible countries with growing economies aren't run by stupid libs. So they won't use confiscatory tax rates to try to rape the rich.

Sinapore and the Swiss come to mind.
