How is the media "left wing and liberal"?

Gosh....I gotta tell you, I just watched Romney's "Better America" video.
2:20 minutes of some really happy, prosperous, contented looking people - very upbeat and positive about "restoring" America to what it once was.

From the looks of it - all that translates into "white."

The Promise of America - YouTube

For those who don't like wasting time on video - here's a montage of all the featured Americans.

Both stories seem like nothing but a lotta mitpicking, if you ask me.

You need to put that into a much larger font size. (oh, wait, you're not so needy that you're essentially screaming for attention? )

...because the next thousand are left wing(also rhetorical)? You have a valid point that deserves consideration, but so do I.

Fox may be the #1 cable news outlet, but it's a distant 4th to the real networks.

Ratings - TVNewser

Quote:
As usual, Fox News comes in first among the cable news channels in May, but even the perennial ratings leader was not immune to a decline this month...

The ratings for May, 2012:

Primetime (Mon-Sun): 1.692M Total Viewers / 326,000 A25-54
Total Day (Mon-Sun): 1.011M Total Viewers / 248,000 A25-54
Evening News Ratings - TVNewser

Quote:
Numbers for May, 2012:

• Total Viewers
NBC...7,757,000
ABC....7,212,000
CBS....5,682,000
PS, for the guys with LEET MAFF SKILLZ WOOT WOOT, these numbers are essentially the same as the weekly numbers. They are reporting a daily number averaged over the month or week.

We often leave the reality-based news out of the conversation and just repeat the ignorant meme that Fox leads all news channels, assuming news channels means cable news outlets ("Choose your news" programs.)

When righties complain about the "mainstream media" they're complaining about better reporting and fact-checking, and making the veiled claim that only Fox (on television) has the unvarnished "truth." Rightists on bulletin boards love to add to this their favorite websites, ranging from Drudge for the merely dishonest to any of the yet worse sites that make no attempt to disguise their racism, misogyny, homophobia, antisemitism, and/or xenophobia.

Also need to consider who owns or runs these media outlets.

Are the "liberal media" run by an abnormally larger % of lefties? Or are they skewed toward Republicans who have decided to use their assets as a mouthpiece for the other side?

I really don't know who the "MSM" meme is supposed to fool.

The rightist media mouthpiece, Fox, sponsors rallies for political parties; makes unabashed statements of affiliation within their news programming; and most recently, has produced what amounts to a four minute campaign ad for Mitt Romney they call a "report."

Now, the other "choose your news" network, MSN, is plenty tilted leftward.

CNN is centrist, attempting to cover the whole day with news on the model of the network news standard.

Complaining that every newscast isn't a pamphlet for your preferred bias is pretty silly.
