Wouldn't some get upset if he started profiling customers?

If he committed a crime that would be one thing, in this case he is having to prove his innocence of others committing crimes, unamerican IMO.
You do not have to profile customers, but turning your back to allow things to happen may be supporting wrongdoing..

You always have control, and when you give it up, anarchy ensues..

Apparently this guy allowed seedy, illegal things to happen in his property and according to the law signed by Reagan he is culpible for their wrongdoing, as he allowed criminal activity to take place.

This isn't comparable to siezing the assets of a large-scale drug dealer/member of a cartel...which is supposed to be the purpose of the law.

If I look out my windown and see my neighbor dealing drugs, it's not a crime for me NOT to report it.

The last thing we need is for this loop-hole to be used to create gov't revenue...sorta like police being sent out with speeding ticket quota's...both are as immoral as the crime committed.

Failure to perform one's civic duty isn't a crime and shouldn't result in asset forfeiture (or, say, jail time -- isn't that the next step?)

It's a bad law. No accountability, no due process, bad incentives.

It's not a very fair negotiation when the other side is the government and they're threatening seizure as an alternative.

if the government wanted a good-faith negotiation, they'd drop their threats.

The number of candy stores is a constant and can not be altered. That's what happens when drugs are illegal and a criminally run enterprise.

Here's the solution....make all the stuff legal!!! I'm dead-serious, all for legalizing all drugs. It will get rid of a lot of violence and all the scum-bag South American cartels and create tax revenue.

Finally, it wouldn't make the drug problem any worse than it already is either.
