Default Senator Richard Lugar

"Ideology cannot be a substitute for a determination to think for yourself, for a willingness to study an issue objectively, and for the fortitude to sometimes disagree with your party or even your constituents," he said."

There's like 2,000 loose Russian nukes that don't exist right now because of him. The Republican party has become an embarrassing joke.

Don't forget about the people that vote these guys in. They're and embarrassing joke too. No matter how crazy and irresponsible these new cons act people who vote still fall for what they sell. They deserve the government they get, except that they might drag the rest of us down with them.

I think you guys are funny. Here's a guy who's 80, and has served what, 6 terms over 40 years or so? It's long been time for him to go. He's another Ted Kennedy lifer who is a prime time example of why term limits should be mandatory.

Sure, and its merely a coincidence that you pubbies have replaced him with a guy who thinks the other side capitulating is what compromise is all about. Anyway, thanks for the seat. Between this, Elizabeth Warren and Olympia Snow y'all can forget about taking the Senate.

Lugar voted consistently for larger government, the voters are coming around to wanting smaller government Lugar, time to go. Hope O Hatch is booted also in the Utah primary.

Agree. The Tea Party guy will lose, though. Unintended consequences on the part of Utahianites. Lugar was a good Senator, IMO, but his time is up...was a long time ago.

He did? Examples, please.

Lugar had a 77 percent lifetime score from the ACU.

Can never understand people's misconception of power in our legislature, mindful of Joe Miller in Alaska, that people vote out a powerful incumbent with ties to everyone who is of importance, and try to replace him with a very unpowerful contrarian.. for what purpose???

They put this seat at risk, and could make the balance different.

Do think Lugar's time has come, but this guy is just another guy who will do nothing except gum up the works of the House..
