Default Ron Paul Wins Maine

that's a big kick in the nuts to Romney ... to lose a state at this point.

Would have been a very exciting race had it been between just Romney and Paul.

Ron Paul Continues to Nip at Mitt Romney's Heels - Ken Walsh's Washington (usnews.com)

Quote:
Paul forces took over the Nevada Republican state convention last weekend and captured 22 of the 25 delegates at stake even though Romney won the Nevada caucuses in February with 50 percent of the vote to Paul's 19 percent.

Paul also dominated the Maine GOP convention last weekend, costing Romney another 11 delegates despite Romney's earlier victory in the Maine popular vote, party leaders say.

Romney still has 856 delegates, 288 short of the 1,144 needed for the nomination, according to an Associated Press count. Former Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania has 257 and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich has 130. Both Santorum and Gingrich have dropped out of the race. Paul, a U.S. representative from Texas, has 94.

Romney caved into Bryan Fischer and fired Grenell, then Bryan Fischer asked the question if Romney caves into him, how will he handle Putin or the leader of North Korea...

Weak, weak, weak.. etch a sketch.

Quote:
Fischer: Let me ask you this question, people have raised this question, if Mitt Romney can be pushed around, intimidated, coerced, coopted by a conservative radio talk show host in Middle America, then how is he going to stand up to the Chinese? How is he going to stand up to Putin? How is he going to stand up to North Korea if he can be pushed around by a yokel like me? I don’t think Romney is realizing the doubts that this begins to raise about his leadership. I don’t think for one minute that Mitt Romney did not want this guy gone; he wanted this guy gone because there was not one word of defense, not a peep, from the Romney camp to defend him. They just went absolutely stone cold silent, they put a bag over Grenell’s head, they even asked him to organize this phone conference and they didn’t even let him speak at the conference that he organized.

I'm willing to give Romney a pass on this. Seemingly, this was a protest vote. If any of the voters there thought Paul was actually a threat to Romney, the vote may have gone differently.

Four years ago at this time in the Spring, Hilary Clinton was beating Obama in several states.

Agreed on that- we never got to see much of Ron Paul on TV itself nevermind a Paul v Mitt debate, which might have actually made the GOP look less insane than it already does. I think Paul would've exposed Mitt's flip flops and his more moderate approach.

Ron Paul has a huge following, it's just that MSM doesn't even mention it (or Ron Paul for that matter, unless they absolutely have to lol). He's drawing crowds of up to 7000, most recently 4000, at his various speaking engagements. A lot of young people support him but there's a mix of ages in there as well.

He'll go to Tampa and get nominated from the floor is what I'm reading-time will tell I guess
