This probably isn't real political, it's from the "letters to the editor" section of the local paper where I used to live in Indiana, but it's funny and it's not partisan and it's a good example of how hard it is to please all of the people all of the time.
(and just in case you don't think it's real...here's the original link.)

I'm sure someone will come along soon to make it so. Something about the private sector doing a better job of sign placement at a lower cost. Someone like Tim Abbot
Reminds me of my tradtional rant and rave about Walt Disney, who essentially took disease ridden pests and gave them a lofty, if not angelic, status. See Bambi, Mickey Mouse and Chip & Dale.
Where I live there are deer in the back yard daily, and every day we fight over the gardens that they consider salad... in my county alone there are over 700+ deer collisions yearly.
When you shoot a deer and hang it in the garage to "season" it as some of my friends do, the next day there are thousands of ticks on the garage floor.. yuk!!!!

Well to give ol' Tim credit he is thinking of the deer by moving the crossing some place eles. He could have just asked them to put up a No Deer Crossing sign

"The most difficult subjects can be explained to the most slow-witted man if he has not formed any idea of them already; but the simplest thing cannot be made clear to the most intelligent man if he is firmly persuaded that he knows already, without a shadow of doubt, what is laid before him." In Maine we call Deer "rats with horns" my wife was driving at 9PM 40 MPH and one of the stupid bastards came flying out of the woods and ran at a full gallop right into the passenger side of the car and caved in both doors, after all the paper work was done the Cops asked my wife if she wanted the Deer (for the meat) she told them to give it to the Salvation Army.
To really appreciate the story it might help to know that Crown Point is a small, mostly farming, community.
It is a little bit bigger (area wise) (16.6 square miles) than the City I live in now (15.4 square miles) - but the population in CP is 27,000 and the population here is 140,000.
The "traffic" on 231 is almost nil - they just drive 90 miles an hour. (And the don't slow down at deer crossings.)
The population density in Crown Point is 1,192 per square mile. In Boston it is12,742 per square mile.
You can kinda figure what traffic's like by comparison.
