Default Brain Decline At 45 Possible

Brain Decline At 45 Possible (VIDEO)

Memory, reasoning and comprehension skills can start to decline at age 45, research published Thursday suggests.

The findings go against previous research that had found cognitive decline starts after age 60 — and highlight the importance of a healthy lifestyle in protecting the brain from dementia, researchers say.

Oh ohhhhhh....

In 10 years the average Fox viewer/average Rush listener is dead.

No wonder these guys are getting more and more desperate with their attempts to restrict the franchise at the state level... they're fighting to level the playing field by keeping Dems home.

My brain started declining around 40 ... I think the study is a bit late. Also ... read somewhere the other week that the myth of killing off bad brain cells in college by partying was wrong also - I think the kids will still keep trying as the novelty of the idea is very appealing.

That's true. The biggest partiers I knew growing up tended to be the smartest, most successful people as adults. I'm the exception. When I tell my wife I think I'm losing my mind, her reply is always "You can't lose what you never had". It's funny every time. I can never see it coming because I didn't remember the last time she said it.

I can remember a song from the 60's & 70's on the first five notes, the lyrics and who wrote it. Then will run into someone I know, and cannot remember their name or look at a familiar plant and have a brain fart.

Maybe what Jim Morrison said was true; "Music is your only friend, until the end".

I always had quick-recall memory issues like you described. Like when coming upon someone unexpectedly that I know or even if I'm talking about actors names.

I also tend to walk into a room in my house and forget why I'm there often or get into my car only to have to go back inside my house cuz I forgot something.

The thing is, I've been doing these things all my life and they actually have a name for it. If you often do these things, then you have what I have too!

Seriously!

That's why I love having this place around... it's like being on Mount Everest... "oh no I've descended 100 feet!" Groesse gedillah.

Sort of suggests we should revise the saying,

"If you're not Liberal when you're young, you have no heart. If you're not Conservative when you're old, you have no brain."

to

"If you're not Liberal when you're young, you have no heart. If you're not Conservative when you're old, you have kept your brain youthful and healthy."
