We need more troops, more helicopters, better intelligence-gathering and more nonmilitary assistance to accomplish the mission there. I would not hold our military, our resources and our foreign policy hostage to a misguided desire to maintain permanent bases in Iraq.
During her campaign Hillary pointed out how important Afghanistan was to BHO at that time.
Announcer: Barack Obama says he has the judgment to be president.
But as chairman of an oversight committee charged with the force of fighting Al Qaeda in Afghanistan–he was too busy running for president to hold even one hearing.
Barack Obama: “I became chairman of this committee, at the beginning of this campaign-at the beginning of 2007, so it is true that we haven’t had oversight hearings on Afghanistan.”

Thanks FBN. I just checked out Obama's "Fight The Smears" website hoping to find an explation on this. Couldn't find any mention of it. Must be pretty hard to "Fight" a "Smear" when your name appears on the Congressional Record as voting against it.
