Default "Individual Rights" - But Not In My Campaign

Ron Paul, who says he's all about personal responsibility, personal choices, personal freedoms, individual rights, freedom of expression, the legalization of drugs and the freedom of The Internet seems to have some rather opposing views when it comes to his campaign volunteers.

Quote:
Ron Paul college age volunteers say they are under strict orders: To look, dress, shave, sound and behave in a way that will not jeopardize Mr. Paul’s chances. Even before flying here on their own nickel, some students said they had been instructed to cover up tattoos and told that their faces should be fresh-shaved or beards neatly trimmed, wearing only nice clothes that one described as “business casual.”

No tats,” another volunteer, Rocco Lucente, said as he ticked off the rules after arriving at the airport Tuesday night. No liquor, no drugs and, he said, no “fraternizing in the dorms, nothing like that.”
And,oh yeah, don't talk to reporters and stay off the Internet.

Give me a break people... Just like your job has dress code, being part of a campaign can too.

Ron Paul is about PERSONAL liberty. When you choose to work on behalf of something else, they can have their rules you need to follow.

Ron wants to ensure people, like yourself, don't critize his supporters are fringe truthers and misrespresent his campaign.

Don't you think this is a bit of a stretch in trying to smear him?

He doesn't want them looking like the "If it feels good do it OWS crowd or the left wing show biz Creeps"

I'm getting to like this guy better every day, if I'm not wrong it wasn't to long ago there were many Liberals who also liked him.

Also, where do you draw the line on "Individual Rights" surely ther must be a line somewhere even deep in the Bowels Of Loonville?

Harry you will love this article: Ron Paul's Lonely Breakfast of Champions - 2012 Decoded

Quote:
But Paul doesn't need a sidekick to fill his plate at the breakfast buffet, fetch his coffee, whisper talking points into his ear, or get rid of pesky reporters -- he does that all himself, thank you very much. Asked if he's concerned that if he doesn't win his followers will not rally behind the GOP nominee, he looks up from his plate of cantaloupe, honeydew, eggs, sausage and biscuit and says brusquely, "Right now, the only thing that bothers me is people who don't respect my privacy enough to leave me alone for five minutes when I'm eating breakfast." And then he goes back to reading his USA Today.

The last thing any candidate needs is some freak representing them with tatoos all over his/her body.

Yeah....or a guy with a goatee or a beard. (Obviously there are no Orthodox Jews allowed to campaign for Ron Paul) Or someone with a Twitter account. Or a college kid in blue jeans and a Tim Tebow TeeShirt. Or a 22 year old with a beer in his hand after hours.

It also leaves out 34% of our active military force...since that's the percentage of people currently in the Armed Forces with one or more tattoos - to say nothing of those who are veterans. If I were Ron Paul, I'd be looking for my military donations to nose dive sometime soon.

BUt - who cares - Freaks, all of 'em. Freaks....riding on a bus with the slogan “Our Liberties We Prize and Our Rights We Will Maintain,” - all the while covering up their "Ameican First" tattoos, cutting their hair to conform to someone else's standard and forsaking their Twitter account and their unaliable right to free speech in 120 characters or less.

Your laughable, your reaching, and it's obvious...

If you don't get this, you don't get much of anything else. He's asking people to be presentable as he import volunteers, I am sure every other campaign as well does this.

But keep reaching...

This is modus operandi for the people he wants to appeal to: white supremists, anti-semitics, homophobics.. god forbid that any of them deviate from the mainstream norm.
