You can thank Dick Nixon and Watergate and the fall out that extended to the 1976 election. In that vein, I recently saw the movie J. Edgar and it got me thinking. Hoover died in early May of 1972 and Watergate break-in occurred a month later. Would it have happened if Hoover were still alive and in charge of the FBI????

the most honest and smartest president of our time... his presidency fell victim to an oil shock recession, as well as his inability to effectively delegate.
unfortunately, the American people (Harry being a perfect example) are allergic to sobering honesty. Perhaps if we listened to the man, we'd be 30 years into preparing for the geological certainty on our doorstep.

I'm pretty sure Carter was trying to be diplomatic and hopes his well wishes wins North Korea over by some degree but seriously, why would anyone wish continued "success" to that dictatorship? Kim Jong-un will be suspicious and Carter is stupid if he thinks he's diffused any tensions. Shut up Jimmy. That's embarrassing.

While you long, pine and whine for some type of christian meaning from the white house, when history is written Jimmy Carter will be viewed as one of the most Christian of all... he wears his faith on his sleeve, and it not some situational dude who panders to the lemmings for a few votes.
He does good works all of the time..
