This is the attitude of the right.. anything that Obama, Pelosi or Reid says is automatically bad, and needs to be fought against.. even if the American People overwhelmingly support the issue...

And another reason why this recovery is delayed.. classic obstructionism.

Well that's the thing. When you're a conservative you want to conserve the past. When you're a progressive you want to make progress.

Why the hell do you think it's so rare these guys have an idea of their own? Their whole program is to stop progress. Their idea of "change" is changing it back to before the last presidential election.

However, we know what happens when they win. QED. Four more years.

Well to their credit, Pelosi is pretty bad and Reid is an idiot, Obama has been lackluster at best, on the other side of the coin, any of those three are better then any GOP member in the house or senate....I guess this is how bad its become.....

We have to choose between Garbage or ****, not much of a choice if you ask me. Dem's always seem say the right thing but never in the end do the right thing, Repub's are just out to lunch and bought and paid for by big bizz....Really wish we have a 3rd or even a 4th party to vote for....

Oh I found the source of what Harry's gibbering on about this time. Evidently Newt called the Palestinians an "invented people" on a Jewish cable channel, trying to get people like me to vote for him.

This has been a big talking point, off and on - the point that Palestinians previously saw themselves as part of "the Arab people". And indeed, some years or decades before Newt was born, this was actually a viable point of view among Palestinians.

However, as Newt knows, everybody's moved off this position, not least of which the Palestinians. His campaign released a statement to cover the non-Jewish population that said "you have to read it in the full context of blah blah blah blah, Newt acknowledges that Israel and the Palestinians continue to yadda yadda yadda, and that any solution will involve the participation of the Palestinians."

You know, the "invented people."



So obviously Newt's a slobbering liberal in love with terrorists, or whatever it is that the OP says you are if you believe in self-determination for the Palestinians, as for any other people with a national aspiration.

Consider the recent economic packaged offered by Obama that was favored by 75% of the American People, and was shot down by partisan politics in Congress.

Consider the new consumer protection agency, which was overwhelmingly supported by the American people, the right does not like to comtrol and watch the banks, so their tactic is to destroy anyone who comes up for confirmation of this new agency..

Not huge fans of any politician, but seems the partisan politics have become more important than the will of the 'merican people.

This is bullsh1t. There are differences between the parties. There is corruption in each of them. But there are differences between them, and you can quite easily distinguish which is more likely to make progress toward whatever type of America you would like to see.

I see this regurgitated so often, no just here but everywhere, that we should just consider it to be said. After all, 24, you have nothing to say here about the actual content of the Gingrich quote, the OP's spin on it, any of that. You could copy and past this response to any thread on any political forum, and swear to God, that's what I think people are doing sometimes.

What's the end state you want, 24? What are your political convictions? No fair saying "well whatever those two large parties want I don't want that."

Get your top 20 issues lined up, look at the guy running in your district, and vote. You'll end up voting for the same party 9 times out of 10. They have different ideologies, and different ideas of what the solution is.
