"WASHINGTON (AP) -- Tony Snow, a conservative writer and commentator who cheerfully sparred with reporters in the White House briefing room during a stint as President Bush's press secretary, has died of colon cancer, Fox News reported Saturday. Snow was 53 years old.

With a quick-from-the-lip repartee, broadcaster's good looks and a relentlessly bright outlook -- if not always a command of the facts -- he became a popular figure around the country to the delight of his White House bosses."

First of all, AP is liberal? Second, they are 100% right, he made a ton of mistakes and often looked clueless. Just because he died doesn't mean they should just lie about him being someone he wasn't. It's sad that he died but he was a public figure, and it would be dishonest to make him out to be something he wasn't.
Quit looking for some partisan angle you can exploit his death for.

Blah, blah, blah, everyone "makes mistakes", Snow was extremely competent. Tim Russert made mistakes, did the A.P. say this about him ? NO, of course not.

**** YOU, A.P.
Where does it say he wasn't competent? If you ever watched his press conferences he usually struggled with hard and fast facts and was much more vague than Mclellen or Fleischer. These are the people who talked to him everyday, don't forget.

Saying he didn't always have command of the facts is equivalent to saying he wasn't always competent. With regard to McClellan - at least Snow wasn't pretending to be someone he wasn't. Anyway, the point is that the A.P. shouldn't have injected a political bend into what was basically a eulological (my own word there) article on the day he died.

That's not a political bend. The AP is not liberal.
Actually, he used OJ as an analagy, he didn't compare him to Obama. But say what you want.
That said he was criticized for more style than substance, but I'm not sure if that belongs in an article about his death, unless it's a detailed critique, which it wasn't.

What are you talking about ? What does the A.P. showing it's Liberal lean by criticizing Snow the day he died as sometimes incompetent have to do with my opinion of the other subject ? And what do you mean he was criticized for style more than substance ? For a media person and a press secretary, what could be more substantive than being correct on the facts ?
It's to be expected, his family, friends, and all the people that ever worked with him know what he really was that's all that counts, the nasty bastards like AP will get their "digs" in whenever they can, the new media (fox, internet, talk radio, bloggers) has driven the old socialist left wing media nuts.
