I'm in full agreement with the sentence. Excellent precedent set for a corrupt politician.

Seeing how the average sex offender in Illinois gets 5 years less(according to MSNBC) than this I'd say it was excessive.

I honestly thought 14 years is too way too much. Just my opinion. I guess it depends upon how long he actually has to serve.

But the guy is an ego-maniac to the extreme. He is still in denial that he did anything wrong...incredibly arrogant.

Blogojevich was sentenced in Federal Court not state court, so the guidelines are completely different.

In the case of white collar crimes, sentenced folks are usually let free to get their affairs in order prior to reporting to some club fed.. I do not agree, but it shows a tremendous disparity in how we treat rich folks before they go to jail.

I wouldn't be afraid to sit down with a white collar criminal, but a PS13 gang member or member of the Hells Angels? No way.

That is prolly the mentality for the disparity in sentencing. They pose no physical threat to anyone...they're just greedy, corrupt scumbags.

I think I'd trade having a month or two to report going to jail for 5 years less sentencing. He needs jail time but 14 years?

Seems appropriate, he was an elected official, who made an effort to sell a Senate Seat.. the courts need to send a very clear message on this type of behavior.

He is a little lower than whale shyt... this is a very serious offense.

Your fear is probably misplaced since the odds of you being the victim of a white collar crime are much higher than those of you losing something to a gang member or a Hell's Angel.
