Again, your blaming person circumstances on the employer....
No, I'm not.
As I already acknowledged, "They certainly may be responsible for their situation."

Good thing I never assumed that, huh?

It certainly can and should, when taking advantage takes more egregious forms. The only real question is where we choose to draw the line.

No, regs certainly stop at some. You just think that some goes too far. And I agree with you, just not nearly to the same degree.
And it isn't simply an attack on the rich.

That's subjective, and it's simply inaccurate. The market doesn't answer all issues. Not even Milton Friedman would agree with that claim.

I have yet to find a situation where 2 individuals can come to a conclusion by themselves on whether or not to continue doing business which REQUIRES the government to be involved.
business can mean to represent anyones ability to deliver goods. Farming is a business.
Unless your advocating everyone must produce everything they use on their own land with their own resources, then someone needs to do something for you.
Money is the common tool to exchange labor for goods we want.
How do we get rid of business???
I like you PR, but you could do for a Economics refersher: Read anything by Mises, the understand of Human Action was mind opening.
And how would you know if it's not you who needs the refresher course? We could all use refresher courses on a lot of things mcgraw.
I never wrote that businesses were bad...I just said they pale in importance when compared to the human race and human rights.
There are so many books, theories and opinions on economics that we both could start reading today and never stop until the we die.
I rarely read economics books unless it will help me perform my job better.
If you read my posts, you know I support capitalism over socialism 100%. I just don't support unrestrained capitalism....
One thing we can all agree upon is that life isn't business and that the most important things in life have little to do with economics. But I'm digressing philosohically here...

Reading Human Action did help me with my job ( business ) Understanding motivations as the core to decision making, is key to working with people, motivating my team. Creating goals which align with my mployees and bottom line.
No one want clean air!
No one wants clean water!
No one wants others to have a level playing field!
No one wants fair pay!
No one wants other to have to play fair!
We like having cheats!
We like big Corps that don't play by the rules!
We hate things being fair!
We don't want any regulations because its more important to have a big screen tv's nice cars then clean air, clean water, fair rules and fair pay!
If only everything had no regs, if everyone could lie, cheat and steal! What a great world it would be! It would be so nice to have our rivers and lake polluted, our air full of smog! Workers getting paid so low that they can't feed their families or pay the rent!
I've said this in the past,
You can lower the taxes to 0%
You can get rid of all regs
We will still have unemployment....Doing the right thing should be easy, you should not need laws and regs to tell you to pay a fair wage or don't pollute your environment, to play be the rules and be fair but guess what? A lot of people are not good people, a lot of people are bad..........

Understanding motivation is what I do for a living mcgraw. After all, that's what economics is.
It's what we call the process that results in point of purchase. We study it too much honestly...buying something isn't as complicated as my co. thinks it is...at least not most times.
We have something called the "Consumer Decision Tree" which outlines each step of the motivation process...yawn.

I have yet to find a situation where 2 individuals can come to a conclusion by themselves on whether or not to continue doing business which REQUIRES the government to be involved.
That's because one person's experience doesn't represent all experiences, and market failings often don't involve 2 individuals.
It's also because the question of what the government is "required" to do is subjective.
I started a business 2 years ago... I now have have 3 employees, I pay my bills, pay taxes, and no one gave me any capital. I didn't get any angel investors, I did it by sacrificing some salary upfront and going balls to the wall for my clients and gaining more clients because of it.
Plumbers, CPAs, Insurance Agencys... Seriously, get out of the corporate mind set, there are businesses being started every day around you and you don't see it? not everyone opening a pizza joint, a bar, a pet store, comes from money.
This mentatlity is the epitome of the loss of the American spirit. The Reality is people every day are taking risks and starting businesses, but because they aren't 5 million a year enterprises, they don't register on your radar. Yet they comprise the biggest employeers in this country.
Real Estate Agents, Painters... I'm a part of BNI, I meet with tons of small small business owners every week, putting their name and assets on the line to make their way.
Good For You And Good Luck, it's guys like you that made this country but don't forget long after I'm gone and you work your way up to be a very successful businessman and your company expands employing hundreds of people then the Left Wing Liberal will Hate you for becoming successful, it's what they do.
