My sister and bro in law are huge Syracuse Fans, and they callled last night about Bernie Fine, and his shenanigans with little boys. Apparently Boeheim is defending Fine, but last night Fine was fired..
Excellent video that was provided to ESPN several years ago, but they withheld as it could not be corroraborated..
Not surprised, just never thought about the NCAA was such an opportunity for pedophiles..
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - Syracuse University assistant basketball coach Bernie Fine has been fired by the university amid allegations that he sexually molested boys over several years.
A statement released Sunday night from the university's senior vice president for public affairs, Kevin Quinn, says, "At the direction of Chancellor Cantor, Bernie Fine’s employment with Syracuse University has been terminated, effective immediately."
Fine has been the subject of a sexual molestation investigation involving several law enforcement agencies, including the U.S. Attorney’s office, Onondaga County District Attorney’s office, Syracuse Police, and New York State Police.
In a story ESPN aired on November 17, one alleged victim, Bobby Davis, who is now 39, told "Outside the Lines" he was abused by Fine for six years, at Fine's home, at the university basketball facilities, and on the road. Davis was the team's ball boy for six years beginning in 1984.
A second alleged victim, Mike Lang, who is now 45, is Davis' stepbrother, and was also a ball boy for several years. Lang told ESPN's "Outside the Lines" that Fine molested him starting when Lang was in the fifth or sixth grade.
In the recording, ESPN says Laurie Fine can be heard saying "I know everything that went on with him...Bernie has issues, maybe that he's not aware of, but he has issues... and you trusted someone you shouldn't have."
Davis goes on to ask her, "Do you think I'm the only one that he's ever done that to?"
The woman responded, "No...I think there might have been others but it was geared to...there was something about you."
While police have not confirmed reports that Laurie Fine is the woman heard on the tape, ESPN says they hired a voice-recognition expert to confirm the voice on the recording is Laurie Fine. In a statement, the sports network admits they've had the tape for several years.
"Davis first gave the tape to ESPN in 2003. At the time, ESPN did not report Davis' accusations, or report the contents of the tape, because no one else would corroborate his story."

"I have known Bernie Fine for more than 40 years. I have never seen or witnessed anything to suggest that he would been involved in any of the activities alleged. Had I seen or suspected anything, I would have taken action. Bernie has my full support."
In a telephone interview afterward with the AP, Boeheim said: "This kid came forward and there was no one to corroborate his story. Not one. Not one. ... This just is not true."

That's enough right there. Had Boeheim ended the interview at that moment, I'd beg for his firing today -- especially now that the school itself has decided there's an awful lot of smoke around Bernie Fine, so much so that the school thinks maybe, just maybe, there's some fire there as well. Otherwise, why was Bernie Fine fired on Sunday, before he's even been charged by police? Perhaps because the earlier developments Sunday, including a taped phone call involving his own wife, are so damning?
