The Minnesota congresswoman appeared to miss the dig. She strode to the couch smiling and waving to the crowd while the hip-hop group tore into the tune's frenzied opening bars.
The Roots have a history of taking musical pot-shots at some of Fallon's more infamous guests.
They serenaded Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt with Beck's "Loser," while Ashley Simpson was once greeted by a Milli Vanilli song, referencing her 2004 lip-synch flub on Saturday Night Live.
Hours before the show aired, Roots drummer Questlove told his Twitter followers to keep their ears pricked during Tuesday morning's show.
My boy Questlove .... well played.

Just another example of libs "viciously" attacking a conservative. Still can't believe she went on Fallon's show.
Kind of a nasty thing to do.....even if it's their reputation to do so.
I wonder - I don't watch the show ever, so I don't know anything about the show, the band or anything else, but I would think that when a person is going to appear on someone's show they have their "people" check it out, yes?
If it's the show's reputation to poke at the guests with a mocking song, wouldn't it behoove the guest to either request that it not be done or to outright make it a condition of their appearance at all?
I don't like the song, I don't like that it was played for Bachmann, but I do have to wonder why it wasn't anticipated and prevented.
That goes for Michelle, Heidi, Ashley, Obama or anyone else who appears on the show.
Seems you have two choices. You know it's customary and so you either A) Accept it and laugh at yourself or B) Tell them you won't appear unless you have the final say in the song they play.
If they don't want to give it to you, you don't have to go on.

Some of my friends have appeared on the show numerous times and have gotten positive songs by The Roots. I think its a creative decision by the band, and the show allows them to have that kind of creative freedom. I haven't checked, but I don't think you'll see Questlove or Blackthought say they are sorry.
EDIT:
I stand corrected...
“The performance was a tongue-in-cheek and spur of the moment decision. The show was not aware of it and I feel bad if her feelings were hurt. That was not my intention,” Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson said in a statement.

Well never heard if this guy and didn't know Fallon even had a show, I thought he just did hideous commercials for the loan sharks at capital one, I saw a pic of 'Questlove' mugging with Obama, so no surprise there. This is more attention that Bachmann has gotten in months.
Why would anyone care about a juvenile skit by a guy who pimps for Obama?

We just have to try to evaluate them the best we can."
