Just think how high gas could go if XOM was trying to recoup that kind of loss?

It takes exxon 2 days to earn 2.5 billion..

How long does it take to clean up an oil spill?

One Bush appointee.

5-1 = 4.

Which leaves 4-3.

But only one of those guys voted. You'd make more sense--and could make a better argument--if you said the Clinton court did it.

Bush tipped it from almost even to being solidly conservative. Roberts for Rehnquist is pretty much a wash, but Alito for O'Connor was a jump to the right - - and that was all it took to go from 4-4-1 to 5-4 (with Souter being the only wobbly).

If you think I meant that he appointed them all.......well, I won't even waste the time on that.

Let's also keep in mind that since that tragedy, technology has been developed (because of it) to keep these things from happening again--and there haven't been any disasters like it since, have there? So some good came out of it there.
Plus they did still get money...just not 2.5 billion.

But one of his appointees didn't vote. So there's minus 1 from the start.

No, I mean there would have been a 4-3 vote for the same result without ANY Bush nominees.

Corrupt?

Seriously, he is a dummy because, as any former Halliburton Board Member would tell you (before accidentally shooting you in the face on a quail hunt) - you put that stuff in a blind trust or sell it off before it becomes an issue.
