So let me get this straight: I have to explain everything to you 2-3-4 times before you get it, and you can't be a free enough thinker to see that someone was responding to a couple of posts at the same time?

Dude....

Gotcha, didn't I? That's cool as long as your comment doesn't give the impression I said something I did not. I think that's a fair request.

I'm with you on this. Just look at Karen Ann Quinlin back in the early 70's when she was mysteriously killed before testifying against the Kerr-McGee Coal company.

I say we start our own spy company to blow the whistle on all these MF's!
I think you have Karen Quinlin mixed up with someone else, or I've missed out on something. Quinlin, 21, mixed alcohol and drugs and went into a vegetative state. Her parents wanted to take her off a ventilator and allow her to die. This brought on many lawsuits and national headlines and became a legal precedent. Her parents succeeded and she lived in a coma for another decade before passing on.
Was it that Karen Quinlin?

Now you're talking! There are many millions of Americans who believe there's no such thing. I haven't heard that term in a long time....at least not here on this board.

There are some who also believe war, maybe even a small "cute" one is a good thing for the economy. You know, fire up the iron works and all!
A former president and 5 star General warned about and coined the phrase "military industrial complex" and if you look at what is going on in Iraq, the MIC has been perfected. Civilian contractors run almost everything over there, rebuilding, security, food servivce, laundry etc...stopping just short of replacing the actual soldiers themselves. And of course there are now 10's of billions of tax dollars missing that disappeared in the hands of contractors, but the Bush administration has issued a gag order so as to protect their friends there. I don't know about you, but I think that I could do a soldier's load of laundry for less than KBR can, who charge $100 a bag.

See C. Wright Mills.. "Power Elite" a book that influenced how I view the world.

The other part of this is that the contractors charge US dollars for peasant labor in most situations.
