My dad put a solar panel on his roof after the 70's gas crisis. It was one of a few incentives offered by the government at the time ... they started off good. However ... it's been rhetoric since then.

Getting better though. The technology has been quietly refined and improved. Soon it will be cheap enough to include at least a small roof panel on each new house. If the government was serious, they'd keep and extend the tax breaks for alt. energy--but they're too cowardly.

Imagine if every house had at least a small roof panel. I wish someone who was smart with figures would figure out the savings in fossil fuels producing electricity.

In VT, the power company there has a program where they use methane from cow poop to generate a portion of their power.

Real World

The question is efficiency first and foremost. People aren't going to dole out a ton of money for a solar system that will not return a valuable return on investment. As for the bill in question, what else was in it? Congressional bills are hardly ever what they seem. Everyone loads in some stupidity that makes it a tough vote for some people.

This right leaning independent support Solar Power, Windmills, Hybrids, and
anything else that will decrease our dependence on foreign oil and help
the enviroment.

I am looking to get the wife a hybrid SUV this week.
Hey if you can get a SUV that gets 25+ miles per gallon it will be worth it.
I am sticking with the SUV for safety reasons. We have two childen under
the age of 2. A Hybrid would be perfect for the wife considering that 99%
of her driving is around town.
