Default A revolutionary Idea

Let's drill in Georgia, Florida, The Gulf of Mexico, Alaska - become energy independent.

Then we invest the money we save by not paying the Saudi's into alternative energy.

Oh wait, no money in that... sorry nevermind.

Yep..kick the effin chinese off our shores and get the oil.

BTW--when I saw your title, I admit I got a little excited and thought the next rev was on...but alas...

No, I don't. The state and federal government makes far, far too much money from petro taxes and lobbyists to ever, ever let it go.

Were I president--hell yeah. Read my platform in another thread , I think it was yesterday. I'd be a great POTUS.

Please link it for me - I'm too lazy to go find it.

What I would do...

- Eliminate Welfare.
- Drill our own oil.
- Tax cuts for the middle class.
- Pull the troops out of Iraq - then blow it up. (Kidding...!)
- Spend more time and effort on our school system.
- Legalize Drugs

... for starters anyway

I forget exactly, but I was saying I'd means test welfare, social security etc, I'd legalize and tax drugs, drill our own oil, I'd mandate the construction of at least three new refineries, (these would also be able to double for green diesel (soybean etc).
And I also would give money for things like solar panels on the roof of all new construction, new education in the secondary schools (I want people to know how to install solar panels for a business, things like that).

ETC.

Oh, and there's no reason for the 100K limit on Social Sec. contributions. If someone makes more than 100K, they should pay on all of it not just the first 100K

Not to say that I necessarily disagree but SS received is calculated based on what is contributed so long term this may not "help" unless you use up to $100K as the calculation for what is received and consider the SS above $100K to be a tax that you don't get back.

Regarding drilling - duh.
