Great Islamist won the election in Tunesia, The Muslim Brotherhood are major players in the upcoming Egyptian election and promising war with Israel, and now the new Libyan government obama enabled is promising to uphold Islamic Law....

If a terrorist is left in power, it's Obama's fault.

If Islamists instead take over, it's Obama's fault.

How about this: try articulating what you think the principles behind our foreign policy should be, and then you can judge Obama, along with any candidates to replace him, and perhaps have some credibility. Otherwise the only principle you're espousing appears to be that you don't like Obama.

Thought the right wanted to get rid of Quadaffi, especially after Lockerbie..

What do you think will happen after we leave Iraq, we changed that country also..

Agree w/Darryl on this one. We're doomed to the UCs while we mistakenly continue to think we are playing chess. Trouble is, there are smart people who don't want to be pawns all over the damn world.

Qadafi or Kadafi or Ghadaffy or whatever wasn't just a prick, he was downright loony. In fact, I remember a bunch of really really lefties being invited to Libya in the 80s to view some kind of parade in some kind of "people's diplomacy" thing. So they got invited, they're watching the little dog and pony show, and a whole phalanx of Eilte Badass Brigade or whatever march by, biting the heads off a bunch of live chickens. I sh1t you not, this was in the news at the time. I still remember what one of the American lefties said... "I don't think they love animals very much."

Nobody was a fan of this guy, but it looks right now like surprise surprise, they're very interested in keeping Islam involved in gubmit.

That said, that leader's phrasing was ambiguous. We'll see what it means. He said no law would be made that's contrary to Islam, which puts the onus on the Islamists to prove a given law is anti-Islamic. He didn't say they'd institute law to establish the perfect "modern caliphate," sort of as the hard-core Taliban types would say.

It's an interesting difference, but we'll see if it matters, or whether it's just trying to have his cake and eat it too.

If a majority voted to enslave a minority group, would that be "self determination" as well?

What's missing from all of these movements are basic rights like freedom of speech, freedom of religion, etc. If you create an "Islamic" state, you are denying full participation to anyone who is not a Muslim.

This now makes three that we have helped to establish. Good grief.
