I actually agree, it small potatoes in the scheme of things, but it does point out one or two things that I thing some of you are missing. I'll elaborate.

First off, and many see this, it points out that the media gives him a pass on EVERYTHING. They don't even question his REPEATED GAFFS. Hell, most of you accepted his BS "retraction" to. Look at it closer.

If this was a one time thing, you could say "Ohrduf/Auschwitz, okay.. I can see that. They are only separated by a few hundred miles and even if ones a death camp as opposed to a labor camp, you can see the name similarity. Yeah.... Slip of the tongue of a tired guy on the campaign trail."

But when I first heard the gaff I went to Yahoo and searched "Barack Obama Auschwitz", and BAM, what pops up? The text from a SENATE FLOOR speech from the October 2002 anti-war speech he gave. Not some "off the cuff" story along the dusty campaign trail. That was a WRITTEN, THOUGHT OUT SPEECH prepared specifically to sell his agenda. He used the story as the linchpin too, which makes it worse. You gotta figure you might research that one out a wee bit, before throwing out to the senate.

Cept, back then it wasn't an uncle, it was his GRANDFATHER. Not only that, he threw Treblinka in too (Coincidently, the death factory with the 2nd greatest human loss behind Auschwitz) and there's no mention of the 6 month attic lock up either, which apparently didn't serve his need that day. So which fukcing guy is it. Uncle Joe, or Grampa?

You can easily pass of the Ohrduf/Auschwitz thing, but it's a wee harder to explain away not knowing which guy in your family was the WW2 vet that locked himself in the fukcing closet for 6 months . The story is an exaggeration/outright fabrication that he whips out whenever the occasion fits the political agenda he wants it to and wiggles the fact to fit the bill. That is dishonesty at it's core. Most politicians do it, but when your platform is that you are "above all that", it makes you look like a bigger DICK.

So sure, pass it off as a "slip of the tongue" if you want, I see it a perhaps a little more. PARTICULARLY when you through in other things recently come to light.

That was my only point.

Cuz, I'm bored........ and like searching archives..... I looked harder.

First, I'm calling BS on part of my own post (which I'd love to see some of you do when you know you errred )

First off, both Barack's Grandfather and Great Uncle enlisted in the service during WW2. Seeing that they were on his WHITE side of the family (the military prior to 1948 was segregated), it's true that both stories COULD be technically be true, since both served in the military at that time.

Let's look a bit closer and see.

Charles W. Payne (sister of Madelyn PAYNE - Barack's grandma) - the Great Uncle who locked himself in the attic upon his return. He supposedly directly served in the 89 Inf. and "liberated" Ohrduf labor camp (part of Buchenwald).

OH OH JOE - Seems as though the available records show that the only 2 Charles W. Payne's that enlisted out of Kansas enlisted in the NAVY (including one guy that enlisted one county over from where the Payne's lived at the time - in Wichita. It's him). Must be a mistake. Let's look at the online records for all service members ever essigned to the 89 Inf. Div. - Holy *****e, there never was a C. W. Payne that ever served in that division.

Maybe it was his Grandpa - Stanley A. Duhnam - We know he joined the ARMY from Kansas. But wait, he never served with the 89 Inf. Div. either and is not listed anywhere on their rolls either.

I can't believe how dumb people can be about this stuff now-a-days. The Uncle story and retraction is COMPLETE BS, cuz while the guy served, he served in the Navy, and never in a place that would have put him in a position to liberate ANYTHING.

Doesn't his campaign know that you can look this stuff up on the internet nowadays and pretty much debunk anything in 30 minutes
