BTW, wes, it doesn't really capture the story. The matter is up for vote to amend the state constitution in November. There's no pressing need for the court to make this ruling now. Despite what Wildo says (), the will of the people should be heard over the voices of a few old guys in black dresses. I wouldn't be shocked to see the voters approve the ballot initiative, and that would be a much bigger victory for homosexuals than a divided court ruling. IMO.

Here's the probloem with this..

Once we put aside Christian vaules, what are we going to use as a standard for conduct? What will be taboo? Where will we draw the line?

How can the court not also say that siblings should be allowed to marry? How can Polygamy still be illegal? If you are going to change the definition of marriage for one group, how can you not change it for everyone else? What about the age of consent? That will have to go to!

Imagine the fraud that is going to come out of this, from insurance to immigration fraud!

This is a horrible idea (changing the definition of marriage) nobody is saying that gay couples should not have the benefits of their partnerships (wait until they start paying taxes as married couples, I'm sure that they may rethink their decisions), but to redraw the norms of a society already sliding into chaos, is just plain dumb.
