Quote:
"Obviously, I find these remarks and others deeply offensive and indefensible, and I repudiate them," McCain said. "I did not know of them before Reverend Hagee's endorsement, and I feel I must reject his endorsement as well."

The comments represented a significant shift by McCain, who had refused to reject Hagee's endorsement despite controversial comments Hagee has made about Catholicism and his implication that Hurricane Katrina represented divine retribution. After learning of those comments, McCain said just because he accepts -- or seeks -- someone's endorsement doesn't mean he endorses that person's views.
So let me get this straight--Obama sits in a pew for 20 years, listening to God Damn America and so forth, and does nothing but give him money and support, meanwhile McCain hears about this sermon from the 90's and immediately goes out and in no uncertain terms rejects the man and his endorsement, and that's a big deal to you? You're a weird little guy.

The Hagee story is but one of McCains flip flops. At the rate he is going he just might be the flip flopper of the century.

Heres a few more.

* McCain criticized TV preacher Jerry Falwell as “an agent of intolerance” in 2002, but has since decided to cozy up to the man who said Americans “deserved” the 9/11 attacks. (Indeed, McCain has now hired Falwell’s debate coach.)

* McCain used to oppose Bush’s tax cuts for the very wealthy, but he reversed course in February.

* In 2000, McCain accused Texas businessmen Sam and Charles Wyly of being corrupt, spending “dirty money” to help finance Bush’s presidential campaign. McCain not only filed a complaint against the Wylys for allegedly violating campaign finance law, he also lashed out at them publicly. In April, McCain reached out to the Wylys for support.

* McCain supported a major campaign-finance reform measure that bore his name. In June, he abandoned his own legislation.

* McCain used to think that Grover Norquist was a crook and a corrupt shill for dictators. Then McCain got serious about running for president and began to reconcile with Norquist.

* McCain took a firm line in opposition to torture, and then caved to White House demands.

* McCain gave up on his signature policy issue, campaign-finance reform, and won’t back the same provision he sponsored just a couple of years ago.

* McCain was against presidential candidates campaigning at Bob Jones University before he was for it.

* McCain was anti-ethanol. Now he’s pro-ethanol.

* McCain was both for and against state promotion of the Confederate flag.

* And now he’s both for and against overturning Roe v. Wade.

And, with his senior moments he probably doesnt remember any of them and he may change his mind again and just might be the first round trip flip flopper in history.

I won't be voting for McAmnesty this year, but how the hell can he 'cozy up to J Falwell' since Jerry died last year?

If he can cozy up to the deceased that would really be special.

Sorry, I typed it wrong but corrected it before I read your post. I noticed it when I went back and re read it.

I think I should re-read these things before I click on the submit button.

He also rejected Ron Parsley, he shall surely be smitten..

http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalra...n-rejects.html

Quote:
ABC News’s Bret Hovell reports: Sen. John McCain rejected the endorsement of a second controversial pastor Thursday, saying there is no place for the Rev. Rod Parsley’s comments about Islam.

“I believe there is no place for that kind of dialogue in America, and I believe that even though he endorsed me, and I didn't endorse him, the fact is that I repudiate such talk, and I reject his endorsement,” McCain said in a statement.

The rejection of Parsley’s endorsement comes several hours after McCain rejected the endorsement of Pastor John Hagee, who made controversial comments about the Holocaust and Catholics.

ABC News’s Brian Ross reported Thursday on "Good Morning America" that Parsley has called Islam “the mouthpiece of a conspiracy of spiritual evil,” and that Islam is an “anti-Christ religion that intends through violence to conquer the world
