If you are going to sponsor a bill that allows handguns into bars it's probably not a good idea to drive drunk with a loaded handgun.

At around 11:15 Tuesday night, Rep. Todd was stopped in his GMC Envoy in Nashville. The AP reports that he allegedly failed a roadside sobriety test and refused to take a breathalyzer. A loaded Smith & Wesson 38 Special was also allegedly found in his vehicle.

The AP adds that Todd is also a lead sponsor of a bill that would allow handgun carry permit holders to bring guns into bars.

It's about an idiot who drove drunk with a loaded handgun and wants handguns to be allowed into establishments that serve alcohol.

IMO his bill will pass even though he is the poster child for not allowing guns into bars.

Even in Tennessee you can't be in possession of a firearm if you have been drinking. Booze and guns don't mix.

He's got it backward. First, you go to the range, spend too much money on ammo, THEN you case your guns, lock em up, and crack a beer and talk politics. That is how it was done in NH when I lived there...man I miss it.

Wonder how many Hells Angels, Crooks, Gang Bangers, Junkies, Pimps and Wanna Be Bank Robbers there are right now riding around america with a loaded gun and nothing will ever stop them.

What does that have to do with bringing a handgun into a place that serves alcohol?
