I am totally outraged...and I believe ge ghas FAR crossed the line...
EEI....D&C..They were talking about this guy who was charged with molestation as he was on the MBTA a day ago...Mr Callahan made a comment like..probably he was like Belichick and didn't know the rules... NOW..do you think that is VERY close to libelous?? OR just trash talk??

This type of stuff is more of the rule than the exception for D & C, right now Gerry is blinded and all caught up in his defense of Tomase and the Herald.. he is a freaking idiot pure and simple.. hope Boston Sports Media Watch caught it, this could be a big deal..

E-mail Jason Wolfe. I can already give you his reply.

"Gerry Callahan is a well respected member of the media in Boston. While his thoughts may be provocative, there is no doubting his talent. He and his partner John Dennis have the most listened to local radio morning show in Boston. The ratings speak for themselves."

I'm not in NE and donn't follow all the Boston media.
Is this the guy interviewing Specter?

So I guess they'll kiss Specter's butt and tell him to go get the Cheaters
with all your power?
I guess that's how it goes.

The local media everywhere else at least pulls for the home town team even while criticizing and taking jabs once in awhile.
But I don't think there's local media anywhere else nearly as outright brutally hostile toward the local team.
It seems almost every media guy there despises the Patriots and wants them destroyed.
Am I wrong?

I'm actually finding Gerry's nervous breakdown pretty hilarious. Poor Gerry's got issues! Did you notice how he gets the Mazz squeak when he's mad??
Jason Wolfe won't fire Callahan even thought he fired talk host John Depetro for calling a fat lesbien a "fat lesbien" on the air. Now if BB were black Callahan would be in trouble but BB is just a middle aged white guy so linking him to a molester is fair game.

I think your being a bit sensitive. He wasn't calling Belichick a molestor. He was just illustratiting that not knowing the rules isn't an excuse. Its not a big deal.

It's actually more complicated than that. These guys do a morning show, which I refer to as Third Reich Radio, that specializes in (what they think is) clever repartee demonizing whatever and whomever don't happen to agree with their political slant. That slant is consistent with that of the Boston Herald, for whom Callahan works. Thus, since Tomase and Tony Massarotti (sp.?) also work for the Herald and have been involved in anti-Patriots writing recently, these radio guys also like bashing the Patriots.

I would ask the question, "Respected by whom?"
