Default Bush gives up golfing because of Iraq war.

Relax everyone! Go shopping! Everything is gonna be fine now.

Bush gives up golfing because of Iraq war
...

In a new interview with the Politico today, President Bush says that he has given up golf because of the Iraq war, to show “solidarity” with U.S. troops and their families. He added that “playing golf during a war just sends the wrong signal”:

Q Mr. President, you haven’t been golfing in recent years. Is that related to Iraq?

THE PRESIDENT: Yes, it really is. I don’t want some mom whose son may have recently died to see the Commander-in-Chief playing golf. I feel I owe it to the families to be as — to be in solidarity as best as I can with them. And I think playing golf during a war just sends the wrong signal.
Update: Cernig writes, "You go to war with the handicap you have…" Brandon Friedman adds, "In today's world, sacrifice is defined in terms of not being able to afford a Hummer; of having to see a few images of war on TV; and of giving up golf."

What a bunch of BS. He's not playing golf, tho, I bet he still bikes just as many hours as he golfed and probably a lot more.

That is a pretty leading question.. the reporter sounds like he or she was briefed.. what else did he give up?? Sounds pretty shallow to me.

Guess he did not give up fishing in Maine though, wonder how the troops view that..

Bush is right, look how the Sore Losers bleat and blubber when he goes down to Crawford for a "cook out"----

Kerry shouldn't be playing with his Surf Board either, he voted for the war.

Imagine going surf boarding while our troops are fighing those savages.

Kerry never said anything, Bush did.

Warren Street at Blue Girl, Red State says that Bush is lying about why (and when) he quit golf:

Actually, it is far more likely that Bush quit playing golf because he was suffering from knee problems throughout the latter half of 2003.

Street then links to a CBS News article published in December 2003[..]

Bush actually played his last round of golf on October 13, 2003. This means that the reason he gave for quitting after the August 2003 U.N. bombing is dubious at best. More likely, he made the story up in a clumsy ploy to gain sympathy. In many regions and cultures around the world, this is called “lying.”

His knee keeps him from running, but how would it keep him from golfing? If bad knees kept you off the course, how is it that all these ex-football players are out all the time?

We get that you guys hate Bush. Can we just stipulate that you hate him and that you don't trust him and move on? Could we do that?
