Default British Troops Train In Kansas

HOLTON, Kan. (AP) — Now roaming the nation's heartland: British soldiers. But, like the Beatles four decades ago, these British invaders are friendly.
Some 200 British army and Royal Marine officers are currently in northeast Kansas, training and building relationships with American officers they are likely to see again.
"It's all about developing skills, knowledge, attributes and motivation for the troops," said Maj. Jo Bell, spokeswoman for the British Defense Academy traveling with the officers. "It's all about building up their confidence."
This is the second year the British have conducted exercises near Holton, about 30 miles north of Topeka and an hour from Fort Leavenworth. The officers did similar training at Fort Benning, Ga., when the program began four years ago.

Nothing new they've done it before. Many fighter pilots from around the world train at Miro Mar the former "Top Gun" base. Germany even leased part of Holloman Air Force base to train IT'S air force a few years ago. There were to many complaints in a populated Germany about noise. And there are more.....

About 2,000 pilots and missile personnel of the air force and navy are trained in the United States under long-standing agreements between the German and United States governments. Primary pilot training is conducted at Sheppard Air Force Base in Texas on Beech Bonanzas, followed by jet training on T-37Bs and T-38As. A Tornado squadron is based at Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico for advanced weapons training. German personnel attend the Patriot and Hawk missile school at Fort Bliss, Texas, and navigator training at Randolph Air Force Base near San Antonio. Helicopter training is conducted at Fort Rucker, Alabama.

Much training is conducted jointly with service personnel of other NATO countries. Joint courses include forward air controller training at Fürstenfeldbruck Air Force Base, training at the army engineer school in Munich, and NATO logistics courses at the Bundeswehr Logistics School in Hamburg. German and other NATO pilots train in low-level flight techniques in Canada at Goose Bay, Labrador. German troops are shuttled to the Canadian province of Manitoba for armored infantry training on German equipment permanently maintained there.

You guys do know that we allow citizens of many foreign countries to attend our Service academys. This is nothing new, gee how ironic, the people that cry that we should never go to war without 98% of the rest of the world going with us, now cry that we train with foreign troops.
