Actually, my angle was that the Republicans are going to lose big this next election. In part because they have been trumpeting their family value platform, and not adhering to it.
Give me a fiscally conservative Republican, versus one who is God fearing and a good family man. I honestly care less if they are getting blown in the church parking lot by a mistress, but enough about Newt.

I think they did not do their homework on the family values thing. Besides, their version of family values is a man, woman, a few kids . I have a lesbian couple across the street from me ... they look like liberals and yet they have great family values ... I don't think family values is a political thing ... it's a choice from left to right ... all can make it if they so choose ... anyways, they are foster parents and damn good ones at that. A white couple who are foster parents to African-American kids ... now there's one for the masses ... good kids and good parents. That would not fly too well in the GOP and for that and a few other reasons they lost me @20 years ago. When they started the holier than thou B.S. ... moved to the right I became an independant.
The GOP reminds me of that popular family in a church who act squeaky clean. Then you find out the father is banging his secretary, the mother is gambling the house away, the daughter gives knob jobs in her house while her parents work and the brother sells dime bags of blunt to support his cocaine habit ... does that sound about right for those family value freaks?

When I was growing up a. paul there was a few in my church. It's an exageration for sure ... but many people I remember from my church youth ended up having alot of skeletons in their closet. Gambling, drinking, cheating, kids who were bad apples.
For those truly religious and into family values ... and this crosses the lines into the religious forum ... but Jesus taught people not to judge others. Many of these people believe in Jesus whether they are Catholics, Christians, etc...
The family value people as a whole love to judge others ... contrary to what the Bible teaches ... thus my exaggeration of the do as I say and not as i do idea.
IMO there are very few religious people who don't judge others ... for the worse and many of them are hypocrites. Like I said ... this crosses over to the religious forum but family values people are like wolves in sheeps clothing.
Well, I don't care for the overly religious types myself. But really, at this point, if a black homosexual man who was at least as conservative as McCain or Rudy showed up, I think the RNC would find a way to make him VP if not toss him the nomination, even at this point, delegates be damned.
