Default Chrysler offers $2.99 fuel-price guarantee

Problem: Chrysler car sales drop 24% Solution: Chrysler subsidizes $2.99/gallon gas for three years on new car sales. Desire to build a better and efficient car surrenders

Not so much surrender as it is a rebate that is less costly than many think. Assuming it's for a limited number of miles (like 12K a year, for example), it'll only cost $500 a year for every dollar gas costs over $2.99.

ANother conspiracy between oil companies and the car manufacturers.

The American people are being programmed to think that $2.99 for a gallon of gas is a sweet deal.

As long as the gas keeps going up, 3.50 - 3.60 - 3.70 and beyond when it finally drops down to around 2.99 or 2.75 the American mind will think they are getting a great deal when in fact it probably should nt over $1.50 to begin with.

Dodge’s New Fuel Price Protection Program Is A Scam , Don't fall for it.

Not sure I'd call it a scam, there's just some rules to it. Kind of like a mortgage, consumers need to read what they're buying they shouldn't need their hands held. Heck, in this thread for Chrysler I suggested a 12K mile limit, it seemed obvious and standard to me.
