Alabama pols win one for the American citizen taxpayer
It's nice to see another state pass legislation that serves the interest of it's citizens, and it's citizen taxpayers, as opposed to the interests of businesses, politicians, and the people who have no right to be here. As more states pass laws like this, others will be pushed to follow.
Illegal Alien students vanish from Alabama schools
By Real World - Associated Press | AP – 16 hrs ago...
BIRMINGHAM, Alabama (AP) — Illegal alien students have started vanishing from Alabama public schools in the wake of a court ruling that upheld the state's tough new law cracking down on illegal immigration.
Education officials say scores of immigrant families have withdrawn their children from classes or kept them home this week, afraid that sending the kids to school would draw attention from authorities.
In tiny Albertville, 35 students withdrew in one day. And about 20 students in Shelby County, in suburban Birmingham, either withdrew or told teachers they were leaving
A school worker in Albertville — a community with a large poultry industry that employs many Hispanic workers — said Friday that many families might leave town over the weekend for other states.
As more states pass illegal alien laws, so will others as a matter of necessity. The overflow of illegals from law enforcing states, to sanctuary states, will make it so. In life difficult decisions have to sometimes be made. With respect to this issue, I will forever side with the american citizen taxpayer, and enforcement of our laws. Want to come here? No problem. Just get in line like we require you to.

This is wonderful news and it's nice to see such a great law have so much success so early! Hopefully someday the rest of the nation will wake up and do the same.
We want secure borders and we work to comply with the federal rules,” Cook said. “But this new immigration law is robbing us of the skilled labor we need in the hardest economic times most growers have ever faced.”
One problem in filling horticulture jobs is that they require a high degree of skill that many people don’t have, he said.
“The legal people are apparently leaving along with the illegal people because they all want to stay together,” he said.
Cook is president of the Alabama Farmer’s Federation Montgomery County chapter and past state president of the federation and of the Alabama Nursery and Landscape Association.

Haha Patters and Real World both start a thread on the same story, and the takes are totally different. Not unexpected, I just found it amusing.
I will say that while I understand why we should crack down on illegal immigration, it is sad to see the children be hurt. As some pointed out in the other thread, a lot of times these kids end up suffering for their parents selfish choice (or choices). It's kind of double-edged sword... it's easy to say "let's get them immigrants out!!," but such actions will have consequences for those kids.
I'm not using the kids' situations, however, to rail against this bill. I completely understand it, especially given the fiscal state of our country (and the world). I just think it's a complex situation with tough choices and decisions.

Thats true, it's the innocent kids that are caught up in all the ***** that their CRIMINAL parents put them in, more reason to kick the thoughtless bastards back where they belong, the Greedy parents did this to the kids not Alabama, we have laws, the criminals crapped on our laws.

That "consumer" is also affected by the $10,000 per the anchor babies of illegal alien fruit pickers cost, not to mention the overall subsidy tax payers provide these businesses who hire them for short coin. If you pay people to pick fruit, they'll pick fruit. Americans will work if properly compensated.

Yes, but we as a society cannot ignore illegal activity that some partake in just because they have children who will (obvioously) be negatively impacted when we enforce our laws.
As another poster in here mentioned, what if an adult runs a meth lab to make money which would help provide for that person's children? Do we allow them to get away with it because to enforce our own laws would negatively impact the children?
