Couldn't sleep last night....had a Poltergiest moment with the downstairs televison. Ended up watching FOXNews and a Greta interview with Sarah Palin.
She had plenty to say - covered everything from her old friend, "Herm Cain" being the "flavor of the week," to Obama being a Socialist to her possible run for president in 2012.
She's "thinking about it," but, honestly, really, Greta, dontcha see that being president would be shackle-y for her and you don't need a title to make people think wisely.
“Is a title worth it?” she asked, rhetorically. “Does a title shackle a person? Are they someone like me who’s maverick? I do go rogue and I call it like I see it and I don’t mind stirring it up in order to get people to think and debate aggressively.”
“Is a title and a campaign too shackle-y?,” she continued. “Does that prohibit me from being out there, out of a box, not allowing handlers to shape me and to force my message to be what donors or what contributors or what pundits want it to be? Does a title take away my freedom to call it like I see it and to affect positive change that we need in this country? That’s the biggest contemplation piece in my process.”

I found a transcript of the entire interview - interestingly enough they've changed her speech patterns - (I have to ask myself, is that racist of the transcriptionist as it was racist of the transcriptionist to add the dropped "g's" to Obama's speech to the CBC the other day?) Throughout the interview Sarah consistantly referred to Herman Cain as "Herb Cain," but in the transcript - he is Herman.
She also strongly implies that FOX doesn't always report things the way they are - especially when the newscaster has an "agenda," but intimates that CNN does tell the truth.
PALIN: And you know, I think it's kind of humorous to see the way that the media is covering these candidates. Let me give you an example of this. Earlier today, Greta, on Fox News, you had a host who said Sarah Palin in the polls, she's way, way down there in the polls. And I'm kind of scratching my head, going, Wait a minute. On another network, on CNN just the other day, they showed a poll where I was, like, within 5 points of President Obama. I was doing well, much better than many of the other candidates.
And I'm thinking all this misinformation and contradictory information, contradicting information from even hosts here on this network itself, it adds to, I guess, the disconnect even -- not just the permanent political class, but many in the media also because sometimes, they don't do their homework. And many times, a host or a reporter, they have their own agenda and they interject their agenda in the information they're providing their viewers and readers.
Nothing to get upset about, she's a politician they're all into that *****, have you ever heard of The Kennedy's.
Why sure I have, Harry. You tell me about those slime-ball, alcoholic, wife-swapping, drug addled Kennedy's all the time. We all know what high regard you've previously held them in.
Glad to see you no longer feel it makes a difference.

I forgot Billy Blue Dress and his Havana Cigars.......
Obama's dog has sex with Joe Bidens left leg.

Palin was talking about the shackles of a campaign the handlers advisers and the like. The title in question was presidential candidate. Funny how some would try to twist that into a comment about the office.

We just have to try to evaluate them the best we can."

The difference is???
Every president recently has raised concerns that being a Prez now is like living in a fishbowl, and most of what a Prez does now is carefully scripted, the advent of continual media feeds all of this.
Compare to a person who can sit and comment on the sidelines, with no filter...
Without regard think she was talking about bondage sessions.. more than anything else.

There is no "title' involved in being a presidental candidate, 13. Being a president is having a title, being a candidate is not.
Greta says, at one point, that there's more power in being president and Sarah replies, to that remark in specific, "There's also, though, the belief that I have had since I started in public office 20 years ago, you don't need a title to make a difference."
I "twisted" nothing. She was talking about both things - running for office and holding office.
Since Sarah has also stated, in this very interview, that she believes she would win if she chose to run the whole point is moot. If she does not run it is because she believes she holds more power and can do more good by remaining the unshackled private citizen she is, with her fan club and her FOX position, than she would hold as president - otherwise she'd run, wouldn't she?
VAN SUSTEREN: Except let me take it one step further. I mean, yes, you can have an effect that way. I agree with that. But we'll use this as an example, is that if you are the president of the United States, or anybody, as you can probably sit down with President Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Netanyahu, maybe together, maybe in separate rooms, and so there is -- there is a bigger platform being president than being sort of someone who is, you know, driving an issue or getting the debate. I'm not saying it's without value, I'm just saying that there's more power being president.
PALIN: Yes. There's also, though, the belief that I have had since I started in public office 20 years ago, you don't need a title to make a difference, truly. In campaign mode, so often a candidate, certainly this is where I was in the VP campaign, being molded, being shaped, Greta, being caricatured by those around you, which prohibits the freedom that one needs to really make a difference and influence and begin some aggressive debate that is needed.
Without regard think she was talking about bondage sessions.. more than anything else.
Oh fer cripes sake, can we keep it intelligent and on-topic for once?
Of course she was not talking about bondage sessions. Why subvert the entire conversation and give credence to those who would like to see you lose it?
Besides, common sense will tell you, no self-respecting sub or dom would use the term "shackle-y," in the first place.
