It's racial, but not racist. Racists have to be in a position of power to enforce systematic descrimination. An employer, media outlet, government can be racist. Some dumb funk who can't control his mouth can only be racial.

That being said, It's abhorrent that elected officials can speak publicly in such a way and get away with it. Almost as abhorrent as the existence of a "black caucus".

Your right Wistah and your explanation of this is the sensible and probably the accurate way to look at it, but it certainly would be considered "Racist" if a GROUP called "White Caucus" made such a statement that is if a group of people were allowed to call themselves "White Caucus" and sit in the halls of Congress.

This is just another example of "The Double Standard, The Free Pass"

Some are-some aren't. The Armenian Caucus? The Hellenc Caucus? The BIKE Caucus?

I am mostly appalled at the perceived NEED for a CBC in 2011 with a half-black POTUS. I used to think that we would soon be over this racial crap in 1979. My friends were all racially diverse yet we all had the same lives. Maybe I was naive, but the trend was toward racial neutrality. It seems to have gotten worse since OJ and Rrodney. It sucks. I guess I'm more disappointed than appalled. But the failure of American society regarding race is definitely abhorrent.

there is no "double standard" in terms of favoring black Americans. The double standard favors white men in America. Whites do fine without a "White Caucus". Whites are and always have been in a position of power to screw-over blacks. It has never been the reverse.

And aren't virtually all of the caucuses such as "The Armenian Caucus," "The Congressional Caucus on Turkey and Turkish Americans," "The Croation Caucus," "The Czech Caucus," "Friends of Norway Caucus," "Friends of Scotland Caucus," "Friends of Switzerland Caucus," "The Latino-Jewish Caucus," etc., etc. supporting all white races/regions?

You don't have to say white to mean white.
