Default What Republican running for press would do the best in New England?

Romney could do well in New Hampshire and do better than the average republican does in New England. Jon Huntsman would do better if it weren't for his poor performance so far in this field. Ron Paul could take New Hampshire and Maine. Rick Santorum, Michelle Bachmann, Rick Perry, Herman Cain would all do terribly up in New England. Christie would do alright if he was running. Palin would do the same as all the Tea Party second wave/neo-cons/texas governors do and that not a pretty result.

Out of all the Republicans, Romney would probably do the best since he is from here (or, I should say, New England is one of the 3 areas he claims to be "from").

Not bad logic but I think it's more the fact Romney is more moderate compare to most of the candidates running. Though being from Massachusetts can be a plus to him doing the best run in New England.

Romney would not only fare better in NE, but he'd fair better in all of the swing states across the country. Independents are key, and I don't see them pulling the lever for Perry. They pull for Christie if he entered the race, but not any of the other candidates. Most of whom are pretenders and not contenders.

Well the question is why vote for a pseudo liberal like Romney or Huntsman, when you can vote for the real thing?

None of them would win in NE.

Funny Reagan IIRC is the last pub to win most of the electoral votes in NE

As many have said, Reagan would be drummed out of today's Republican party.

Have we ever had a Prez that really cared about New England ... just saying. We do okay here in New England and overall it is a great place to live but I don't think politically they really care about us.

He probaby would be. I think what was once considered a democrat and/or republican, is no longer the case. Be it JFK, or even Clinton, to a Reagan, the parties have each morphed into establishment central.
