Like I said: Loose enterpretation you've got there.

Well Pres Clinton had signed a resolution calling for regieme change, additionally they were continually violating the terms of our ceasefire with them by firing at American planes.

Another disgrace by Mc Dermott. No suprise he was an apologist for Saddam

That's fine. You're not informing me of anything we're all not well aware of. But we're still waiting for you to tell us why the Bush League didn't rest it's case for war on those grounds and those grounds alone. That's what was fact-based. Why wasn't it enough? Why did the majority of their case hinge on evidence that was extremely disputed? Talk about traitors. Over a hundred thousand people are dead, over 2 million displaced, and a country of 30 million's infrastructure obliterated... all based on lies.

Well McDermott knew these facts and he acted as Saddam's shill, this thread has to dorats despicable behavior. I am answering the straq man you tried to erect. This has to do with clearly established policy from before the Bush admin.

Another right wing poster who hasn't the slightest clue what a strawman argument is, apparently.

Bottom line these rats are scumbags who were shills for an enemy of this country who was supporting terrorist (as the documents and report released prove beyond a doubt).

You're unbelievable. I mean really.

The documents proved nothing of the kind you're trying to insinuate, and you're extrapolating once again. Liar.

"Contact with" is not a working elaborate relationship... and the report's conclusion section admitted no working relationship. Read it again.

See, a working relationship and support (of the kind you, patsfan13, need and hope for) is something that leaves behind vast monetary evidence. Paper trails, etc.

I know the right wing media is having a field day with the Pentagon's PDF this week, but did you even read the report word for word? Or just the parts your intructors provide for you?

Here's the "relationship," in a nutshell...

AQ: "Hey there. I know we promised to crush secular Muslim regimes, but... c'mon man. Whaddya say? Help us out... "
Saddam: "actually, go fu(k yourselves"

yet look at you hawks sprinting forward blowing a whistle and pointing frantically. Washington Times sure took it and ran with it. National Review has it all over their Op-Ed.

Man, patsfan13, ... do you ever love this conflict with Islam, or what? Rock on, dude.

Hey, I know how much you and yours salivate over the prospect of blowing US-funded Muslim radicals (who helped us fight the Soviets) to kingdom come. I know 9/11 changed everything. I know, PF. ...

Saddam was a bad, bad man... We get it... But I'm sorry...

there was no Iraq-9/11 tie
there was no elaborate AQ-Ba'athist relationship
there were no functional WMDs ready at a moment's notice to kill Americans

just like

there were no Iraqi tanks massed at the Saudi border...
there were no babies being taken out of incubators and murdered in Kuwait...

the sooner you accept it, the better off you'll be in any debate regarding your heroes' modern crusade.

Here is a question for all of you, particularly those who call this treason. In 2002 they had to leave the country and then reenter.. their passports had to indicate that they entered Iraq and no one raised a fuss then. If the Republican adm. thought it was a big deal, they would have used it to embarass these guys to further their own agenda. People in the State Dept. and the security folks all had to know about this, but no one said anything.. maybe it is not as big a deal as it was a humanitarian trip..

Lots of inuendo here..

I didn't like it at the time, I thought them going was in extremely poor taste...actually I thought it was flatly wrong. Especially when they used their trip as a platform to support Saddam at the expense of the administration.

And newsflash--despite what you may 'believe', this administration doesn't do a lot of "gotcha" politics. It's something that people inside the administration as well as people who watch them complain about.

And humanitarian trip? Bonior goes over there to say how wonderful Saddam is and how evil GWB is and that's humanitarian?

Ahhh....I guess in your world it is. Never mind.
