Christianity, in fact, is one of the biggest offenders because of their desire to convert anyone, and everyone. And, sometimes, actually, in many cases, it leads to violence, which BTW, is something that the teachings of Jesus, himself, was totally opposed.
And, of course, we have seen the destruction, both in human death, destruction, and more, that this administration has wreaked upon the nation, and the world. Remember, Bus said that GOD told him to attack Iraq.
Not to forget , too, that it was the religious "right", the Christian Coalition, the evangelicals, for the most part, that were responsible for Bush becoming president. (not to mention five black robed radicals)
haven't you said your wife is an evangelist?

Re: We Need to Keep Politics and Religion Separate For Good.
I followed arabic countries politics since 9/11 , countries that are moderate had made sure to separate their religion wich is islam from Politics thru creating new laws , new bills , public debates, and to my surprise ,it seems it is working for some , like Morocco ,tunisia , egypt ,etc, etcetc.
After 9/11 , they realized that religion and politics don't mix well , and it is not the right path , specially after the terrorist bombing that happened in Casablanca , Istambul , and in Egypt , where innocent locals died from religious terrorists.
