Default Another of Obama's Green Jobs Initiatives ....

Fails big surprise, of course he is unveiling a new jobs plan can't wait....

Solyndra to Declare Bankruptcy | NBC Bay Area

Quote:
Solyndra, a major manufacturer of solar technology in Fremont, has shut its doors, according to employees at the campus.

"I was told by a security guard to get my [stuff] and leave," one employee said. The company employs a little more than 1,000 employees worldwide, according to its website.

This in spite of $535,000,000 of taxpayer guaranteed loans, guess who get to pay off the bankruptcy?

Obama the entrepreneur on Solyndra last year:

Quote:
During a visit to the Fremont facility in spring of 2010, the President said the factory "is just a testament to American ingenuity and dynamism and the fact that we continue to have the best universities in the world, the best technology in the world, and most importantly the best workers in the world. "

It's not his statements the administration will regret; it's the loan guarantees. The President was celebrating $535 million in federal promises from the Department of Energy to the solar startup. The administration didn't do its due diligence, says the Government Accountability Office. "There's a consequence if you don't follow a rigorous process that's transparent," Franklin Rusco of GAO told the website iWatch News.
Solyndra Filing a Disaster for Obama | NBC Bay Area

But wait there's more, turns out a big investor in this failed company just happened to be a big bundler for Obama, a billionaire who is now being bailed out by the taxpayers, isn't crony capitalism wonderful?

American Thinker- Print Article

Quote:
Solyndra had as an investor a big bundler for Barack Obama -- Oklahoma billionaire George Kaiser. I warned last year that the sun was setting on these solar green schemes:

Solyndra is (and maybe will soon be "was") a green company that was showered with 535 million dollars of Department of Energy loan guarantees last year (the first such guarantee the Department had issued in years). Steven Chu, Obama's handpicked energy guru (with zero experience in the real world), could not wait to send the dollars flowing, issuing the guarantee before he even hit the three month mark as Cabinet Secretary. He hailed it, as did Joe Biden, as a miracle in the making. Barack Obama toured the factory and hailed it as "leading the way towards a brighter and more prosperous future"

How is that working out?
Yeah Obama and his green economy. What a bozo, now for his new jobs plan can't wait...

His supporters sound like their running very scared also, pretty touchy.

Problem is I don't think his money bundlers are in those businesses.

I'm actually looking forward to Obama being out of office, so that we get to see if you oppose "crony capitalism" with a pubbie in office.

I'm guessing you'll be giving them every benefit of the doubt, as you do with righties on most issues (even terrorists).

Well we know you don't hold your guys to any standards at all as long as they tow the party line, like Buffett.

BTW funny article of BS from a couple of years ago when they were hyping the 500M in guarantees from the taxpayers.

Solyndra To Make Solar Power As Cheap As Coal In 2-3 years

What a crock of course Obama got a nice photo op in 2010.

Given that I don't adhere to a "party line," that's a pretty stupid statement on your part, huh?

On the other hand, you leap to demonize the guy because he's not a pubbie and the Post wrote something.

re. Buffett, let us know when you have any facts to offer. Or simply when you learn the difference between a person and a corporation -- did the Supreme Court ruling confuse you on that?

Another waste of tax payer money on so called green jobs:

Seattle's 'green jobs' program a bust - seattlepi.com

Quote:
McGinn had joined Vice President Joe Biden in the White House to make it. It came on the eve of Earth Day. It had heady goals: creating 2,000 living-wage jobs in Seattle and retrofitting 2,000 homes in poorer neighborhoods.
But more than a year later, Seattle's numbers are lackluster. As of last week, only three homes had been retrofitted and just 14 new jobs have emerged from the program. Many of the jobs are administrative, and not the entry-level pathways once dreamed of for low-income workers. Some people wonder if the original goals are now achievable.
