He said several times that Iran, a predominately Shiite country, was supplying the mostly Sunni militant group, al-Qaeda. In fact, officials have said they believe Iran is helping Shiite extremists in Iraq.
Speaking to reporters in Amman, the Jordanian capital, McCain said he and two Senate colleagues traveling with him continue to be concerned about Iranian operatives "taking al-Qaeda into Iran, training them and sending them back."
Pressed to elaborate, McCain said it was "common knowledge "

We are fighting "extreemists" in a "war on terrorism"....what a joke.... When you need to parse words to describe the enemy you will only convince simple minded foolios that what you are doing is right. Good thing only smart people vote!

Was watching MSNBC and they were showing McCain saying the same thing, AGAIN. A discussion followed trying to decide if he was having a Sr. moment or is using Bush's strategy, lying. Don't fret, he'll be great in the debates.
Yeah, getting old has its consequences. That's why all presidents select the best and brightest to be their eyes and ears, and even confidantes, while studying the world scene and making big decisions. This is not new. Reagan, Eisenhower, FDR, Woodrow Wilson -- all older guys need a good support staff. Even the younger ones do, too, for that matter. Let's pray for whoever ends up in the White House.
