Default Another Federal boondoggle

NOAA, National Hurricane Center, FEMA, you name it. All these federal groups running around doing nothing but forecasting, warning, preparing you, running evacuations, and eventually doing rescues could be better handled by a private sector "HurriCo" that obviously would do what PEOPLE want, as represented by what they can afford in hurricane-fear gouging binges, instead of acting in the public interest as represented by the Nanny State and its one-size-fits-all evacuate EVERYBODY stupid left-wing ideology.

The private sector would be so much better at search-and-rescue-for-a-profit, shelter-natural-disaster-victims-for-a-profit exercises.

Also why should the gubmit rebuild roads, bridges, sewer lines, whatev after a hurricane when the private sector is guaranteed to do it better because of all the competition and free market and invisible hand and whatnot.

And the goddam National Hurricane Center is the worst, all they ever do is talk and predict and warn and blah blah blah, but in their whole history they have NEVER prevented ONE SINGLE HURRICANE.

or maybe we just bring the National Guard back from Afghanistan/Iraq and have them respond to this. If i am not mistaken, thats a big part of their job.

Yeah it was, back in the day. But shouldn't Blackwater have a private army that can do that?

Oh yeah by the way, I CERTAINLY hope no Republican governor accepts ANY Federal emergency aid of any kind. Except Virginia's, of course.

If elected Michelle Bachman promises no hurricanes.

Well, there's your problem right there. Then again, I went and got an Alaskan kayaking package for January.

This genius move was followed by trading out of a spot where they could have gotten the last decent receiver in Robert Ferguson and settled for tackle Matt Light, who will not help any time soon.”

Rick Perry will hold an old time really big tent revival and pray away the storms.. meanwhile it still has not rained in Texas.

Yeah we never survived Hurricanes back in the day before FEMA......

I remember a number of Hurricanes hitting RI when I was a boy, no 24/7 coverage no FEMA and yet we survived, wonder how that happened.
