Our good friends at Comcast, the same people who love spending our taxpayer dollars chasing down New England boogeymen, actually got CAUGHT yesterday paying people to cheer for it at an FCC meeting in Boston about Net Neutrality.
There was huge turnout at today’s public hearing in Boston on the future of the Internet. Hundreds of concerned citizens arrived to speak out on the importance of an open Internet. Many took the day off from work — standing outside in the Boston cold — to see the FCC Commissioners. But when they reach the door, they’re told they couldn’t come in.
The issue of net neutrality is basically an issue that united conservative libertarian and progressives against companies like Comcast and Verizon who want to control who gets bandwith on the internet. Companies like Comcast believe it's their right to control access to website based on a pay to get exposure basis while its opponents believe there should be a level playing field regardless of how much a website owner pays Comcast or Verizon for access.
Perhaps, since this occured in Boston, Ted Kennedy might be interested in subpoenaing Comcast for its UNPATRIOTIC and Un-Democratic tactics at a government hearing.
Contact Senator Kennedy and ask him to investigate Comcast's actions in Boston, and support net neutrality just to get under their skin.

After seeing how easily Comcast was able to get away with using a US Senator to go after a group, the NFL, that would not bow to its demands - this type of activity is not surprising in the least.
If the cable companies want to operate in a free market, then I'm all for letting them. Of course, that would mean losing its antitrust exemption and actually having to compete in an open market.
If these companies want to be a government-mandated monopoly, then no, it is not their right to make a dime at every turn, especially at the expense of freedom of information.

I think the issue here as it relates to the Pats and Comcast is that this serves as an example of an out of control company who will lie, cheat and steal its way to getting its way. It's also a bit hypocritical to send send Specter after the Pats and the NFL's anti-trust exemption when this company at the same time is lobbying for what the poster above called a government sanctioned monopoly that not only would have a financial grip on the market but also can regulate free speech on the internet if its side of the argument is passed.

Amen, RIVA. Comcast hypocritically commits far greater crimes every day than the one it is paying it's Senator to trump up against the New England Patriots.

Since when it is illegal to use money to get people to do what you want?
If net neutrality people wanted this to stop, they'd pay those people more money to show up and boo Comcast. It's the free market at work.
Talk is cheap. Who's going to put their money where their mouth is? Who's going to step up and match Comcast dollar for dollar?
If that isn't illegal it should be..maybe you think Comcast should be paying for votes directly as well...apparenrly you worship the corporations..good luck to you... Luckily, Cong Ed Markey is quite strong FOR net neutrality and I am sure a few words to him may really spur the Congress to do something about Comcast.

So Right and Wrong doesn't matter, it's just who pays the most money gets their way?
Got it, Unoriginal.
This is the Corporation that blindsided the Patriots 48 hours before the Super Bowl. These people play a VERY down and dirty game. There is a list a mile long on these creatures and their arrogance knows no limit.
