A bomb exploded in a government area, a press officer at Oslo Police Station confirmed to CNN.

“There has been a bomb explosion in the government area," the officer said. "At least one person is dead and a number of people are injured, we don’t have the exact number yet.

But that spokesperson said so far they don't know what the cause was.

"We don’t know if this comes from a terrorist action, we don’t know yet. We don’t know exactly how many explosions were yet," the spokesperson said. "Oslo centre has been evacuated."

A US official says it is too soon to tell what caused the explosion in Oslo or whether it is a terrorist attack. The possibility of terrorism is always a concern because of the ongoing threat from al Qaeda to launch attacks in Europe.

Oh dear God, I hope the Muslims aren't involved, if they are I don't think we should be talking about it.

Lets pray that some dirty filthy scumsucking christians did it.

How 'bout first we pray that there are not a lot of casualities? Then we can pray that they catch whoever did it without first praying it was one group or another.

AP is reporting that because of this attack, Norwegan troops are massing on the border of Iraq to rid the country of WMDs. They claim they will be greeted as liberators, and will stand down when the people of Iraq stand up. The leadership in Oslo is saying they are building a coalition of the willing including such nations as Latvia and Tonga.

on the Real, lets not "pray" that any sect did this, bottom line is that this (as with every act of terror) is perpetrated by COWARDS. The only faith that guids a coward is his/her fear and lack of general understanding of human beings in general. They could be a Jewish, Muslim Eskimo who was born in MOntana, goes to catholic church every sunday and plays Magic the Gathering for all I care....they are still a COWARD. A complete b!tch did this

Looks pretty bad....not much information coming out yet, though. Hard to believe only two people were killed. That's alot of offices which sustained major damage.

Quite honestly....Don't compare terrorism to Nazi invasions and the threat of communism. Its a bit silly. You are better than that. To quote-ish Allan Iverson "We talking 'bout TERRORISM here, not a game, TERRORISM"

Perhaps you are unaware that Norway has approximately 83,000 combatant personnel available to be mobilized at any time and that they have a mandatory draft for all males and a voluntary enlistment for all females. They also have the highest military expenditure per capita for all of Europe.

They hardly curled up and rolled over during WW2, either. Their resistance movement was one of the most organized and, by the end of the war, had over 40,000 armed men which greatly facilitated the transfer of power in 1945.
