That's very misleading..........were you alive? I was sitting at a table with 4 adults and numerous kids (I was a kid). The adults were in awe. They couldn't believe it. That event was probably one of the most significant occurrences in their lives. To ask that something that extraordinary to happen in the next 30 years is unrealistic. That was how impressive it was.

While it is kind of sad that the shuttle program has shut down I feel Government should have a small role in space exploration. Let private Company's or other Country's spend the $.

If Richard Branson wants to start a colony on the moon then I wish him the best.

I was not alive in 1969. Imagine what 1969 "Scout" thought about the year 2011? Where did he think we would be by now?

Technology moves at something like 100X as advanced each year.

Using that Logic, the shuttle program should've been scrapped by the 90's.

we should have a base on the moon, and we all should be vacationing there by now.

Instead we are fighting Holy wars and drilling for oil. Its sad.... seems like we've been going backwards, thats all.
