Default Conservatives implement strategy to fight global warming

Another brilliant no-cost solution to real problems facing America. This one is about as good as preaching "personal responsibility" as a solution to poverty.

Okla. governor calls for prayer to end heat wave - CBS News

It is relentless, dangerous and gripping the country. A major heat wave this weekend has prompted officials in 17 states to issue heat warnings and advisories.

On a temperature map of the nation Sunday, you'll find several large areas in the 90s and a patch that had highs above 100 degrees.

CBS News correspondent Cynthia Bowers reports that it's been so hot for so long in Oklahoma, the governor called for a statewide day of prayer in hope of some divine intervention

"I think if we have a lot of people praying, it moves the heart of God," Gov. Mary Fallin says.

They're trying to "move the heart of God"? ....WHAT?

That's quite a messed-up god they pray to, isn't it? It tortures them with brutal heat waves (and floods and earthquakes and disease and other calamities) and in order to make things better, requires of its believers massive amounts of requests and begging for mercy and promises of devotion. Pretty insecure, not to mention downright sadistic if you ask me.

I think it will be just as effective in lowering global temperatures as the Chevy Volt.

Cute, but are you being sarcastic about Oklahoma's global warming stance or the call for prayer?....because, a political leader should never, ever invoke God to intervene in any crisis.

Amid Criticism for Lack of Leadership: Obama Prays for Egyptian Peace - War On Terror News

VoA News U.S. President Barack Obama says he is praying that the violence in Egypt will end, and that “a better day will dawn over Egypt and throughout the world.”

President Obama spoke Thursday at an annual prayer gathering in Washington. He said he is mindful of the violence that is happening in the Middle East, and that he prays the “the rights and aspirations” of the Egyptian people will be realized.
This year's National Prayer Breakfast brought together members of the U.S. Congress, world leaders, a Chilean miner and a Hollywood director to participate in the five-decade-old congressional tradition of prayer.

I'm glad The Reverend Martin Luther King Jr isn't around to see and hear the way His God and His Jesus are being treated I hope they don't start on Allah next then the ***** will really hit the fan.

In the beginning there was nothing but *****, God said "let there be light" lo and behold the sun rose.

MLK thanked God Almighty because he was free at last.

They're both pretty futile at this point.
Those who want to reduce pollution are nowhere near as able to do so as those who want to continue to pollute because it's cheaper.
Those who wish for peace in the Middle East are equally powerless considering the forces that gain from an unstable Middle East.

Am I the only one who sees a connection between the two scenarios?

Either way, praying to invisible, undefines and uncontrollable entities for anything is more futile than anything else. God either has a plan or it doesn't. Which is it?
