Keep in mind, folks, that this thread links to left-of-center website Salon.com on how Obama got away with a sob story that, in all probability, was false.

Rather than arguing with insurance companies as she was battling cancer, Obama's Momma received Cadillac coverage. The point of the article is that the President's statements will likely no longer be uncritically accepted.

The media suck-up of 2008--an almost completely unvetted candidate--probably won't be duplicated to the same degree EDIT: in 2012.

State starts a thread about Obama's lies (mentioning health care) and makes comparisons to Jimmy Carter. You respond with a comment about the birthers, as if that has anything to do with what State wrote. Then you accuse me of redirection!!

How the liberal moderator defines hijacking: Anything that makes Obama look bad.

Wolfpack, you don't seem to know what an analogy is. That's something we ordinarily learn in high school. Analogies are perfectly appropriate. To see this issue is as bad as the birth certificate issue would be like a conservative saying that Obama is a socialist. Look up the word "analogy"; I think you'd find it useful. At any rate, as I said it does not appear Obama lied at all -- it appears that at the time his mother died she was worried about the state of her insurance, and actually making an appeal to the insurance company.

Actually, I know exactly what an analogy is (as you define it). When you or any other liberal in here hijacks a thread about Barack Obama and brings up something completely unrelated in a sad attempt to make Republicans look bad, that is just "an analogy."

Responding to that hijacking, however, is a forum rules violation.

I know this isn't an issue a lot of us need reminding of--politicians routinely lie--but I think when it's laid bare it should be put around the politician's neck, regardless of political affiliation.
