What is up with people & cars in California?
Correction: The title should read Los Angeles, not California.
My co's HQ is 20 miles north of Los Angeles and every time I go there, I see more BMW's, Ferrari's, Mercedes, Porches and other super-luxury cars than anywhere I've ever been.
At a dinner we had, I brought it up and said, "I know there isn't more wealth in this area than any where else in America, so what's up with all the super nice cars driving the 405?
They told me, "oh people around LA will live in a crappy apartment just so they can drive a nice car"
Anyone else ever notice this when they visit LA? I'm telling you, it's shocking.
I wonder what the difference in mindset is when LA is compared to say, the Boston area or New York city.
